ALBANY —
The Valwood football team remained perfect Friday night with a 43-7 win over the Terrell Academy Eagles in Albany.
Valwood (7-0) came out of the gates fast, building a massive first half lead because scores from Khary Paige, Rashad Mathis and Jake Lastinger.
Paige scored on a 65-yard touchdown pass from Tyler Williams, while Mathis found the end zone three times.
Mathis scored on a 1-yard touchdown run from the wildcat position, caught a 9-yard touchdown pass from Lastinger and returned an interception for a touchdown.
Lastinger also added a touchdown run of his own.
Zane Edmondson added a second half score for the Valiants, who
allowed a late touchdown to Terrell Academy with less than five minutes remaining to lose its shutout.
The Valwood starting defense was impressive all night. Terrell Academy crossed the 50-yard line just once against the starting Valiant defense.
