Seven Lowndes Vikettes and one Valdosta Wildcat were named to the All-Region 1-6A softball teams.
Lowndes placed the most players on the All-Region teams than anyother team in the region, including a region-high five on the First Team.
Infielders Cara Parker and Heather Robinson, along with catcher Rebecca Prairie, outfielder Chelsea Medford and pitcher Tiffany Bishop were all named to the First Team from Lowndes.
Infielder Madison Floyd and outfielder Kendall Holland were both named to the Second Team. Valdosta’s Stormm Phillips, known for her accomplishments in basketball and track and field, was also named to the Second Team.
Tift County head coach Taylor Wilkins was named the region’s Coach of the Year, while freshman Adrianna Durden was named the Player of the Year after leading the Lady Blue Devils to the region championship.
The Vikettes finished the year with a 20-10 overall record and a 9-3 record. They were eliminated from the state playoffs in the first round by Hillgrove. Valdosta finished the season with a 2-21 record and an 0-12 record in region play.
