VALDOSTA —  

Lowndes JV pounds Tift, 49-6

VALDOSTA — The Lowndes junior varsity football team defeated Tift County 49-6 Thursday night at Martin Stadium.

Jerome Daniels scored touchdowns of 4, 10 and 27 yards to lead the Viking offense.

Dashon Folsom added a 5-yard touchdown run, Arvin Berry scored a 6-yard touchdown and Chris Trower scored a 21-yard touchdown run.

Tyler Thompson scored on a 6-yard touchdown reception on a Seth Carlo pass.

Sean Smith added four extra points and Nick Hart added three for the Vikings.

Tre Durden and Luther Washington each recorded interceptions on the night.

The Lowndes JV is now 5-0 and concludes its season in two weeks against rival Valdosta.

Valdosta Middle routs Coffee, 41-14

VALDOSTA — Valdosta Middle School’s eighth grade football team hammered one of Coffee’s middle school teams 41-14 on Thursday at Bazemore-Hyder Stadium.

Valdosta’s Quanteiz Robinson scored touchdowns on runs of 75 yards, 70 yards and 8 yards. Cameron Christopher caught a 63-yard touchdown pass from Luke Ard and a 3-yard touchdown pass from Dayton Hall. Khalil McLain scored on a 25-yard run. Marciano Arceo kicked five extra points.

Valdosta Middle (3-0) will travel to Cook Middle next Thursday.

Valdosta Middle’s seventh grade team tied Coffee 42-42.



Hahira beats Coffee

HAHIRA — Hahira Middle’s eighth grade football team beat one of Coffee’s middle school teams 16-8 on Thursday.

Kamarie Hayes scored on a 45-yard run, and also ran for two two-point conversions. Jeffrey Davis had the Vikings’ other touchdown, on a 2-yard run.

Hunner Finley made eight tackles and Nick Lewis had seven tackles for Hahira.

Hahira’s seventh grade team edged Coffee 8-6. J.T. Milam scored on a 9-yard run, and J.D. Lee added the two-point conversion. A.J. Stewart made 12 tackles on defense.

Hahira’s teams face Colquitt County next week.



Lowndes Middle defeats Pine Grove, 28-18

VALDOSTA — Lowndes Middle School’s eighth grade football team beat Pine Grove 28-18 on Thursday.

Tyson Harris scored on runs of 73 and 51 yards for the Vikings (4-0), and also had a two-point conversion run. Malik Wright also scored two touchdowns, on runs of five and three yards. Adrian Rawls had a two-point conversion.

Lowndes hosts Coffee’s maroon team next Thursday.

Lowndes Middle seventh graders beat Pine Grove, 28-8

VALDOSTA — Austin Robinson scored two touchdowns and a two-point conversion to help Lowndes Middle’s seventh grade football team (3-1) defeat Pine Grove 28-8 on Wednesday.

Robinson scored on a 20-yard run and caught a 43-yard touchdown pass from Michael Barrett. He also caught a two-point conversion pass from Barrett, and intercepted a pass.

Shemar Dawson scored Lowndes’ other touchdown, on a fumble return. T.J. Harris ran for a two-point conversion.

Lowndes Middle’s sixth grade team beat Pine Grove 30-0. Jamar Walton and Casey Weldon both ran for two touchdowns. Seth Kipper ran for a pair of two-point conversions and Eli Joyner had one.

Lowndes will travel to Douglas to play Coffee’s White team next Wednesday.

Valwood JV beats Crisp Academy, 34-8

VALDOSTA — Sam Martin rushed for three touchdowns and returned a kickoff for another score, and Colby Thomas ran for a touchdown, leading Valwood’s junior varsity football team to a 34-8 win over Crisp Academy on Thursday.

Rajaez Mosley had an interception for the Valiants.
