VALDOSTA — So far, the Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax is not getting the green light from voters. Of the 12 special taxing districts created by the state, voters in only 3 of the 12 are favoring the referendum so far.
Although with only 18 of 159 counties completely reported tonight, it is too soon to call the success or failure of the referendum, it looks like it may not pass in much of the state, including the Southern District where Lowndes is located.
