Dalton man in custody, accused of double killing

CALHOUN, Ga. — Police said a 54-year-old man from north Georgia has been taken into custody and accused of killing his mother and sister.

The Gordon County Sheriff’s Office said Douglas Glenn Parker of Dalton was apprehended in North Carolina after an overnight manhunt.

The bodies of his mother, 71-year-old Edna Sue Fields, and his sister, 45-year-old Rebecka June Wade, were found just before midnight Friday. WXIA-TV reports (http://on.11alive.com/M1uBXy ) that both victims died of gunshot wounds.

Authorities said a second person has been taken into custody but not charged in the case.
