VALDOSTA —
The site of a fatal shooting was targeted for arson early this morning.
Valdosta police and fire officials say arson is the suspected cause of a blaze at T&D Snack & Fashion, 1401 N. Troup St.
Gasoline was splashed along one side of the building’s exterior; a Molotov cocktail was tossed through one of the building’s windows, said Valdosta Fire Chief J.D. Rice.
The 911 center received a call regarding the blaze at approximately 2:30 a.m. today. The Valdosta Fire Department arrived in time to extinguish the fire.
Police have obtained additional evidence in the case. Valdosta Police Cmdr. Brian Childress said the arson may be in retaliation for the Sunday morning shooting death of Alfred Pierre Bradley Jr., 24, at the establishment.
In addition to the arson investigation, Valdosta police detectives continue investigating the shoot death and are obtaining warrants for suspects in the case.
