Lowndes Viking hospitalized after falling out of truck

LAKE PARK — A member of the Lowndes High School football team was injured Saturday afternoon after falling out of a truck in Lake Park, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

Jacob McCook, 17, was in the back of a truck on Cypress Lake Trail when unsecured cargo shifted and fell out of the truck bed, knocking McCook out of the back of the truck, said Cpl. Harvey Williford of the state patrol, reading from a patrol report.

McCook's injuries were "non-incapacitating," but he was taken to South Georgia Medical Center, Williford said.

Tallahassee Memorial Hospital later confirmed McCook had been transferred there.
