Not looking good for TSPLOST

VALDOSTA — The Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax has been voted down in six of the seven counties reporting in the Southern District, with 11 counties still to be finalized.

 

Of those reporting, only Atkinson County voted yes, by a margin of SIX votes! The "yes" votes were 924 and the "no" votes were 918. 

The counties whose precincts are all counted and reported so far in the Southern District are Atkinson, Ben Hill, Berrien, Cook, Echols (voted no by a margin of 73 percent to 27 percent), Pierce and Turner.
