LOWNDES COUNTY — At the request of Georgia/Florida Railroad, the Georgia Department of Transportation announces a temporary lane closure on northbound S.R. 125/Bemiss Road and the temporary closure of Davidson Road near Moody Air Force Base in Lowndes County.
A temporary northbound right lane closure on S.R. 125/Bemiss Road will be utilized near the new south gate entrance to Moody AFB. This temporary lane and road closure for railroad upgrade work is tentatively scheduled to begin at 8 a.m., Wednesday, August 1 and continue through 6 p.m., Friday, August 3.
Residents Access to Bemiss Road
The Georgia DOT will temporarily reopen Roberts Road to allow resident’s access to Bemiss Road.
A temporary asphalt crossing will be installed at the dead end of Roberts Road.
Motorists are advised to slowly proceed across the temporary raised asphalt built crossing on Roberts Road and continue to Bemiss Road.
Only a right turn from Roberts Road onto Bemiss Road is allowed.
Motorists are advised to slow down and use extra caution in this and all construction work zones.
