VALDOSTA — The Lowndes County Engineering Department announces an emergency road closure on Skipper Bridge Road, CR 781, from Griffin Drive to Coppage Road due to the flood waters of the Withlacoochee River. Skipper Bridge Road will be closed until the flood waters have receded. A detour will be established southbound at GA Hwy 122 E to Val Del Road to McMillan Road and back to Skipper Bridge Road. A detour will be established northbound at McMillan Road to Val Del Road to GA Hwy 122 E and back to Skipper Bridge Road. All motorists are encouraged to be cautious when traveling this area.
