VALDOSTA —
The City of Valdosta Utilities Department will make the following repairs on River Street:
· Utilities crews will repair a manhole at 401 River Street, on Wednesday, Oct. 10, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., weather permitting. River Street will be closed in both directions, from Varnedoe Street to Wells Street, and motorists will be detoured via J.L. Lomax Street to Central Place.
· Repairs will be made to a manhole located between Blitch Street and Hightower Street, on Tuesday, Oct. 16, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., weather permitting. River Street will be closed in both directions between those streets, and traffic will be detoured via Blitch and Hightower Streets.
Motorists are urged to adhere to all traffic signage while driving cautiously through these areas. For more information, call the Utilities Department at (229) 259-3592.
