Ga. man sentenced to 220 years in molestation case

ATLANTA — A 23-year-old man has been sentenced to 220 years in prison on charges of rape, child molestation and cruelty to children.

Fulton County District Attorney’s spokeswoman Yvette Jones says Jason Jerome Hambrick was convicted Monday of sex assault crimes against a 3-year-old girl who was in his care.

Jones says Hambrick in July of 2011 repeatedly forced the unidentified girl to perform sex acts, which caused physical scarring.

Relatives learned of the molestation when the girl was making inappropriate sexual gestures and was examined at a hospital afterward. Hambrick was arrested in August of 2011 after authorities executed search warrants for his home and for DNA.
