Martiele Roberts Hart

HOMERVILLE — Martiele Roberts Hart, 77, passed away Friday morning at her residence following an extended illness. A native of Irwin County, she had lived in Clinch County since 1951. She was a retired LPN from the Clinch Memorial Hospital and the first certified EMT in Clinch County. She was the daughter of the late Samuel Jackson Roberts and Vivian Tindell Roberts and the widow of Lewis “Pete” Hart. Survivors are two daughters and a son-in-law, Vivian and Larry Smith and Pat H. Joyce, all of Homerville; one son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Donna Hart, Homerville; one sister, Jeanette Faulk, Williston, Fla.; nine grandchildren, Jimmy and Danny Smith, Dell Wilson, Lesee Strickland, Will Joyce, Jake, Jarred, Janna and Jennifer Hart, all of Homerville; seven great-grandchildren; a close friend, Mozell Tolbert, Homerville; and several other relatives. Funeral services for Mrs. Hart will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Shiloh Southern Congregational Methodist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Keith Chauncey and the Rev. Talmadge Guess. Burial will be in Shiloh Church Cemetery. Mrs. Hart will remain at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. today with visitation after 5 p.m. Mrs. Hart will be carried to the church one hour prior to the services. — Roundtree Funeral Home



Rudolph (Pete) Jones

VALDOSTA — Rudolph (Pete) Jones, 45, of Valdosta, passed away Aug. 28, 2001. Born Jan. 31, 1956, he was the son of the late Jack Jones Sr. and the late Ollie Mae Jones. He was preceded in death by by his brother, Jack Jones Jr. and a sister, Geraldine Hamilton. Survivors include one daughter, Daphane Daily; one granddaughter, Sta’, Stichia Daily; one grandson, Terrell Daily, all of Bainbridge; brothers; Jack Jones (Juanita), William Jones (Bridgie), all of Sanford, Fla., Will Jones of Deland, Fla., Remer Jones (Margaret) of Kissimmie, Fla., Elijah Jones of Quitman, Nathaniel (Ella), Lee Morris Jones (Sharon), all of Valdosta; sisters, Mary L. Patterson (Samuel) of Winter Haven, Fla., Ida M. Williams (James), Lola M. Robinson (Jimmy), Lilla Jenkins (Nathaniel), Ruby Williams (Clarence), all of Valdosta, Florie Williams (William) of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Julia Davis (Michael) of Kansas City, Kan.; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Sweetville Baptist Church. Dr. R.L. William Drawdy Willis

QUITMAN — William Drawdy Willis, 90, of Quitman, died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2001 at his residence after a lengthy illness. Born in Taylor County, Fla., he was the son of Henry Duvand and Martha Cooey Willis. He was retired from Powell’s Farm Supply, was a member of the Quitman Kiwanis Club where he served as past president, secretary, and lieutenant governor. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge and a member of the Quitman First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher for many years. He is survived by his wife, Louise Willis of Quitman; two daughters; Dianne (Edward) Brown of Tallahassee, Fla., Susan (Eddie) York of Quitman, seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Beatrice Lindsey of Albertville, Ala., and Hattie Lee Lancaster of Hawkinsville. He was preceded in death by his sister, Geraldine Ives. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. today in Oak Hill Cemetery with the Rev.
