William Louis Goodin
NAYLOR — William Louis Goodin, 72, of Naylor passed away Saturday, March 23, 2002 at his home. He was born on Dec. 20, 1929, in Echols County to the late Comer and Nellie Connell Goodin. Mr. Goodin enjoyed playing for the Valdosta Wildcats and Coach Wright Bazemore. He was a veteran of the Korea conflict, a member of the Elks Club and former station manager for Southern Airways in Florida, South Carolina, Alabama and Tennessee. He returned to Valdosta in 1964 to raise his family and become the proprietor of Southern Fish and Oyster Company. He was a Presbyterian. Survivors include his wife, Christelle “Scrappy” Goodin of Naylor; two sons and daughters-in-law, Louie and Susan Goodin of Jennings, Fla., and Tony and Tammy Goodin of Naylor; and a daughter and a son-in-law, Angie and Dan Sheffer of Fayetteville; his grandchildren, Blair Goodin, Heath Goodin, Hal Goodin Holly Goodin, Callie Sheffer and Thomas Sheffer. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. today at Sunset Hill Cemetery with Rev, Mark Owens officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of South Georgia, P.O. Henry C. (H.C.) Tucker, 81, of Hahira died Sunday, March 24, 2002, at his home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday at Hahira First Baptist Church with burial to follow in Friendship Cemetery.
