Clarence Bradford
NASHVILLE — Clarence Bradford, 70, of Nashville, died on Sunday, Nov. 11, 2001, at Holly Hill Nursing Center. He was born on Dec. 9, 1930, in Berrien County to the late Mose and Eva Mae Rouse Bradford. Mr. Bradford was a truck driver and member of Bemiss Road Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Audrey Bradford of Nashville; one son, Chris Bradford of Nashville; one stepson, Gary Graves of Leesburg; three grandchildren; three sisters, Josephine Brooks of Lakeland, Dorothy Bradford and Ina Bradford, both of Chicago, Ill.; and four brothers, J.W. Bradford of Lakeland, Carl Bradford, Naylor, Harold Wayne Bradford, Lakeland, and Harry Bradford of Phoenix, Ariz. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Johnny Smith officiating. Burial will be held in Nashville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held after 3 p.m. today with the family receiving friends from 7-9 p.m. — Lovein Funeral Home
Sharon Patrick Gay
QUITMAN — Sharon Patrick Gay, 36, of Quitman, died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2001, at South Georgia Medical Center. A lifelong resident of Brooks County, she was the daughter of Wesley Heeth and Joyce Parker Patrick. She was a secretary for Brooks County Middle School and a member of Elam Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Greg Gay of Quitman; two daughters, Casey Johnson and Elizabeth Johnson, both of Quitman; her mother, Joyce Patrick of Quitman; two stepchildren, Gregory Gay II and Brittany Gay of Valdosta; grandparents, Ruth and Reid Goodwin; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Harris (Kaye) Patrick of Quitman, Carlton (Lynn) Patrick of Lake Park; brothers-in-law, Mike Gay, Steve Gay, David Gay, Chris Gay, Wesley Gay and Jimmy Gay; two sisters-in-law, Jennie Dixon and Christine Holwell. She was preceded in death by her father, Wesley Patrick; father-in-law, Robert L. Gay Jr.; grandparents; Paul and Nadine Patrick, Ernest and Marie Parker. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Philadelphia Baptist Church with the Rev. Tommy Bussey, the Rev. John Paige and the Rev. Thilmon Vonier officiating. Howard Lillis Lincoln
VALDOSTA — Howard Lillis Lincoln of Valdosta died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2001, after a lengthy illness. He was born on Sept. 18, 1920, in Tekema, Neb., the son of the late Laura Myrtle and Mark A. Lincoln. He grew up in Moline, Ill., and graduated from Moline High School in 1938. He completed his undergraduate degree from Augustana College in Rock Island, Ill., and received his master’s degree from the University of Denver in Denver, Colo. Mr. Lincoln was a decorated veteran of World War II. He served in the 88th Infantry Division of the Fifth Army in Italy, and received his discharge as a Captain in November 1945. He was a resident of Valdosta for 43 years. Mr. Lincoln retired from the faculty at Valdosta State College in August 1984. In 1987 and 1988, he and his wife Sarah served in mission work in Mandeville, Jamaica, through the Caribbean Missions Board. Mr. Lincoln was named an Outstanding Educator at Valdosta State College for both 1971 and 1972. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and served faithfully as a Sunday School teacher, deacon, elder and trustee. He was treasurer of Wheels for Missions and a past member of Valdosta Kiwanis Club. He is survived by his wife, Sarah Swindell Lincoln of Valdosta; one son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Kathy Lincoln of Valdosta; one daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Buddy Coleman of Valdosta; one granddaughter, Kelly Coleman Call and husband Tom Call of Valdosta; three grandsons, Will Coleman of Boulder, Colo; Stephen Lincoln of Boulder; and Parker Lincoln of Valdosta; and one great-granddaughter Chandler Anne Call. He is also survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Tru Lincoln of Monument, Colo.; one sister and brother-in-law, Patti and Tim Perior of Northridge, Calif
.; sister-in-law, Ruby Swindell of Jacksonville, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the McLane Chapel with the Rev. Ben Konopa and the Rev. Steven Jones officiating. Entombment will be held in the McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at Carson McLane Funeral Home.
