William Allen ‘Bill’ Everson Jr
William Allen “Bill” Everson Jr., 68, a longtime resident of Valdosta, died on Saturday, March 29, 2003, at the Tranquility Hospice in Austell. He was born in Mitchell County on April 7, 1934, to the late William Allen Everson Sr. and Mary Alice Brady Everson. Mr. Everson was a sales representative and a member of Morningside Baptist Church.
Mr. Everson is survived by his wife, Lurydean “Lura” Matthews Everson; a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Debbie Everson of Douglasville; a daughter, Sharon Everson of Valdosta; his grandchildren, Chad and Michele Everson of Warner Robins and Jarrod and Courtney Everson of Douglasville; his great-grandsons, Caleb and Joshua Everson of Warner Robins and Wyatt Everson of Douglasville; one sister, Jackie Burkett of St. Cloud, Fla.; and two brothers, Marvin Everson of Albany and Randall Everson of Denver, Colo. His parents, William Allen Sr. and Mary Alice Brady Everson, preceded him in death.
Funeral services for Mr. Everson will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2003, at Morningside Baptist Church with his son and grandsons, Rev. Mike Everson, Dr. Chad Everson, Rev. Jarrod Everson and his pastor, Dr. Wayne Robertson, officiating. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. Willamae Vitone
Willamae Vitone, 59, of Valdosta, passed away Monday, March 24, 2003, at her residence after a lengthy illness. She was born in Cook County and had lived in Valdosta for most of her life. She was Baptist by faith.
Survivors include her husband, Victor Vitone Sr. of Valdosta; one daughter, Sandra Lee Montoya of Challis, Idaho; one son, Victor Vitone, Jr. of Tallahassee, Fla.; two sisters, Myrtle Harris of Nashville and Betty Aperson of Ashburn; five grandchildren, Ben and Justin Morrison, Arianna Vitone, Erin and Joe Montoya; and a number of nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2003, in Riverview Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice of South Georgia, P.O. Odessa H. Miles
Mrs. Odessa H. Miles, 71, formerly of Quitman, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2003, at her residence in Morven. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2003 at Bethel A.M.E. Church, Quitman. The Rev. Ronnie Averett, pastor, Rev. David L. Moore, Presiding Elder, will officiate. Burial will follow in North End Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the hour of the funeral. The family will receive friends Tuesday at the funeral home from 6-7 p.m. — Washington Funeral Home
