Herbert Bradley

NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. — Herbert Bradley, 56, of New Smyrna Beach, Fla., formerly of Valdosta, died on Sept. 23, 2002, at home. He was a warehouse worker for U.S. Food Services for 15 years; enjoyed music, fishing and cooking. He is survived by his mother, Lucille Bradley of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; six daughters, Melissa Bradley and Selenthia Bradley, both of Valdosta, Tamika Bradley, Lanette Clayton, Beverly Harris, and Jennifer Clayton, all of West Palm Beach, Fla.; 11 grandchildren, Lakia, Brianna, Latasha, Christopher, Shamar, Keyunna, Courtney, Corey, Darrell, Tiffiany, and Brittany; two great- grandchildren, Kelis and Kevin; seven brothers, Cornelious Bradley Jr., New Smyrna Beach, Fla., Jerry Peterson, Daytona Beach, Fla., Michael Lee Peterson, Bronx, N.Y., Duane Hightower, Queens, N.Y., O’Neil Morris, Jacksonville, Fla., Eric Peterson, New Smyrna, Fla. and Michael David Peterson, New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; three sisters, Dorothy Edwards, Queens, N.Y., Julia Blondett, Bronx N.Y., Sheila Bradley of Orlando, Fla.; four aunts, Clara Washington, New Smyrna Beach, Fla., Lee Pritchard and Leila Ceaser, both of Valdosta, and Willean Hunter of Queens, N.Y.; and two uncles, John Halton, Detroit, Mich. and Henry Halton of Tyler, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002, at Mt. Olive Primitive Baptist Church, New Smyrna Beach, Fla. with Pastor Adewale Adewumi officiating. Burial will follow in Sea Pines Cemetery, Edgewater, Fla. The family will receive friends from 5-9 p.m. this evening at Waters Funeral Home, New Smyrna Beach, Fla. and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002 at the church. — Waters Funeral Home, New Smyrna Beach, Fla.



Louise Brooks

FORT WORTH, Texas — Louise Brooks, 94, a homemaker, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2002, in Fort Worth, Texas. Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. today at Greenwood Garden Chapel, Forth Worth, Texas. Entombment will be held in Greenwood Mausoleum. Visitation will be held from 2-3 p.m. today at Greenwood Funeral Home, Forth Worth, Texas with Dr. Lamar Smith officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Valdosta-Lowndes County Chapter of Habitat For Humanity and the American Heart Association. Louise Brooks was born May 9, 1908, in Milsap, Texas. She was a founding member of the Fort Worth Bankers Wives Club and served as the first President. Louise was active in the Provarsu Study Club at the Woman’s Club of Fort Worth, the Fort Worth Knife and Fork Club, Ridglea Country Club and the First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth. Louise was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Brooks, past Vice President and Trust Officer at First National Bank. Survivors include her son, Michael Brooks and wife, Deborah of Valdosta, Ga.; granddaughter, Lauren Brooks of Athens, Ga. — Greenwood Funeral Home, Forth Worth, Texas



Beraiah Cooper

Mr. Beraiah Cooper, 88, of Washington, D.C. formerly of Alapaha, departed this life Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2002, in Washington, D.C. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002, at West Fletcher Cemetery in Alapaha. Ira Corbett

Ira “Buddy” Corbett, 68, of Lake Park, passed away Thursday, Sept. 26, 2002. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time and will be announced later by McLane Lakewood Funeral Home.



Shirley Fulton

Funeral services for Mrs. Shirley Fulton will be held Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002, at 2 p.m. in Valdosta, Ga., at Greater St. Phillip Church, with Rev. Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in the North End Cemetery in Quitman, Ga. Stevens-McGhee Funeral Home is in charge of all the arrangements.



Johnny B. Gray

Johnny B. Gray, 53, of Valdosta passed this life Sept. 23, 2002, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Mt. Carmel House of God Saints in Christ Church and Bishop Alton Litman will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery. —

Mr. Jimmie L. Johnson formerly of Quitman, died Monday, Sept. 16, 2002 in Callup, N.M. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Emanuel AME Church in Grooverville with the Rev. D. Robert Neal Sr.

Mr. Robert Neal Sr., 94, formerly of Quitman, died Sunday Sept. 22, 2002, in Sarasota, Fla. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bethel AME Church in Quitman with the Rev. David L.
