Dorothy L. Mullis

VALDOSTA — Dorothy L. Mullis, 65, of Valdosta, passed away Sunday evening, May 26, 2002, at her residence. She was born in Colquitt County and had lived in Valdosta for most of her life. She was a member of China Grove Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, William S. Mullis of Valdosta; three sons, Mark Mullis, Houston, Texas, Michael Mullis, Atlanta, Brian Mullis, Valdosta; one brother, Donald Goff, El Paso, Texas; stepbrother, Ricky Goff, Moultrie; four grandchildren, Julia Mullis, Kyla Mullis, Lauren Mullis, Jessica Mullis; a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with the family receiving friends following the service at the funeral home. A private family graveside service will be held in Moultrie. — Music Funeral Service of Valdosta



Arthur Walker (Art) Price Jr.

VALDOSTA — Arthur Walker (Art) Price Jr., 66, of Valdosta, died Monday, May 27, 2002, at his home after a short illness with cancer. He was born on Feb. 26, 1936, in Florence, S.C., to the late Arthur Walker Price Sr. and Flossie Mixon Price of Timmonsville, S.C. Art was retired from Ceco Corporation as production engineer and was a licensed real estate broker in Georgia retiring in Atlanta in 1995. Art was a Scottish Rite Mason, York Rite Mason and Shriner. He was elected this year as Oriental Guide serving on Hasan Templer elected Divan. He was also a member of the Royal Order of Jeslens serving on the Albany Court. He was a member of the Valdosta Shrine Club serving in several offices and member of the Hasan Oriental Band. Art was a charter member of Pipes and Drums in Atlanta. Survivors include his wife, Sarah Hyatt Price of Valdosta; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sylvia and David Wade, Renee and Ken Busby, all of Valdosta; one stepdaughter and stepson-in-law, Sherrie C. and Tony Perkins of Lake Park; four grandchildren; one sister, Linda Getsinger of Charleston, S.C.; and one brother, Billy Price of Macon. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Riverview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Kenneth Valerian Tomczak

LAKE CITY, Fla. — Kenneth Valerian Tomczak, 70, of Lake City, died late Friday afternoon, May 24, 2002, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Lake City due to an extended illness. A native of Stevens Point, Wis., Mr. Tomczak had lived in Lake City for the past 15 years having moved here from Valdosta. Mr. Tomczak was a veteran of the Korean War while serving 10 years in the U.S. Air Force as a staff sergeant, during which time seven years were overseas duty. Mr. Tomczak later worked as a crypt analyst for the U.S. Civil Service. Mr. Tomczak was of the Catholic faith. Mr. Tomczak was preceded in death by his wife of 19 years, Frances Tomczak in 1990, and one stepdaughter, Patricia Everette, also in 1990. Mr. Tomczak is survived by his mother, Eunice Tomczak of Lake City; one son, Mark James Tomczak of Baltimore, Md.; one daughter, Tanya Tomczak Terrell of Lake City; two stepsons, Ronald Williams of Missouri, and Jesse Fountain of Hawkinsville; and one stepdaughter, Linda Crews (Jimmy) of Trenton; five grandchildren, Katie Tomczak, Robert Everette, Charles and Kenny Crews, and Amanda Godwin also survive. A graveside memorial service for Mr. Tomczak will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Jerry Tyre officiating. Lena I. Flowers, 78, of Hahira, died May 27, 2002 at the Presbyterian Home in Quitman after a long illness. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Adel Church of God with burial held in Woodlawn Cemetery Annex, Adel. Winnie B. Prescott, 84, of Statenville, died Tuesday, May 28, 2002, at the Fellowship Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Statenville United Methodist Church with burial following in Statenville Cemetery.
