Clyde Barton



Clyde Barton, 88, Adel passed away on June 30, 2001 at Memorial Hospital. He was born Nov. 15, 1912 in Cook County and lived there all his life. He was a member of the Antioch United Methodist Church and retired farmer. He was preceded in death by his father, William Robert Barton, and mother Belle Hancock Barton, his wife, Nellie Mae Barton, a daughter, Margaret Faye Barton, and a brother, Maurice Barton. He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Linda Barton, Adel; a brother, Robert H. Barton, Adel; two grandchildren, Lisa and Jonathan Barton, Adel. Funeral services will be held today at 3 p.m. at the chapel of Boone-Lipsey Funeral Home with Rev. randy Mosley officiating. Interment will be at the Woodlawn Cemetery. Bertha Bell Fouraker



Bertha Bell Fouraker, 95, of Jasper, Fla. passed away Sunday, July 1, at Suwannee Valley Nursing Center, Jasper. The Syracuse, N.Y. native was a homemaker and member of Bethel Primitive Baptist Church near Fargo. She is survived by three sons, Rodney Fouraker and Walter Fouraker, both of Jasper, and Richard Fouraker, White Springs, Fla.; five daughters, Frances Baker, Grand Ridge, Fla., Lucille Brown, Dorothy Westberry, Marjorie Westberry and Alma Bembry, all of Jasper; 24 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 3 at Bethel Primitive Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mary Nell Robinson



Mary Nell Robinson, 52, who resided at 1409 Southwood Drive, Valdosta, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, June 26, 2001 at South Georgia Medical Center. Ms. Robinson was born on May 21, 1949 in Delmar to the late Hamp and Sally B. Robinson. She received her education at the Westside High School and her Christian experience encompasses the St. Mark Baptist Church and the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by one sister, Marie Robinson. She leaves to cherish her memories two loving and devoted sons, Staff Sgt. Karl Robinson of Hawaii and Michael Robinson (Stephanie) of Valdosta; two grandsons, Michael Jr. and Justin of Valdosta; one step-granddaughter, Bernice of Valdosta; five loving and caring sisters, Rosa Lee Robinson, Eliza Evans (Clarence), Annie Hickey (Joe), Louise Williams (Willie), Beatrice Rosa Lee (Robert), all of Valdosta; seven aunts, Beatrice Robinson, Vernell Robinson, Viola Robinson, Lula Lamb, Ann Callaway, Juanita McAfee and Josha Bell Robinson; three uncles, C.H. Robinson, Mike Robinson and M.J. Robinson; several special friends, Earlene Foster, Carnetha Washington, Montez Daniels Maria Fitzgerald, Betsy Jones, Peggy Seward, Mamie Williams, the Hezekiah family, the Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church family and David and Martha Riley; also a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Homegoing services will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m., at the New Greater Union Ministries Church. Bishop Wade S. McCrae is the Pastor and will officiate. William Benjamine ‘Billy’ Sears



William Benjamin “Billy” Sears, 72, of Jasper, Fla., passed away early Sunday morning, July 1, 2001 at Shands Healthcare in Gainesville, Fla. The Jasper native was a retired auto mechanic and deputy with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office. He was a member of Jasper First Baptist Church and also attended Harvest Fellowship Church. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Helen Sears, Jasper; one son and daughter-in-law, Benjamin Ashley Sears (Twyla), Live Oak, Fla.; one brother, Samuel F. Sears, Orlando, Fla., and Bettye J. Sears, Jasper. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 3, at Jasper First Baptist Ch

Ernie L. Spitzer



Ernie L. Spitzer, 44, died suddenly on Saturday, June 30, at his residence. He was born in Bradenton, Fla., to Edward Lee and Wanda Tomlinson Spitzer. He had lived in Valdosta for the past three years. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Spitzer is survived by his son, Rudy Bardinelli of Camilla; his mother, Wanda Tomlinson Spitzer of Valdosta; four grandchildren of Camilla; four nieces and a nephew. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Lee Spitzer, and two brothers, Michael and Tomwall Spitzer. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today at the graveside in Wayfare Cemetery.
