Elizabeth Fant Greneker
VALDOSTA — Elizabeth Fant Greneker, of Valdosta, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2002, at the Lakehaven Nursing Home. She was born in Abbeville, S.C., to the late Samuel and Allie Fant and was the wife of the late Eugene Greneker of Valdosta. Mrs. Greneker retired from teaching with the Valdosta City School system in 1975, was an elder in the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ and participated in various church organizations. She was also involved with the FFY Club and the Literary Guild. She is survived by two sons and two daughters-in-law, Gene and Jane Greneker of Marietta, Sam and Molly Greneker of Valdosta; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Her husband, parents and one brother, Larry Fant, preceded her in death. A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Christian Church. Burial will follow in McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at Carson McLane Funeral Home. — Carson McLane Funeral Home
Raymond Lamar Hall
MOULTRIE — Raymond Lamar Hall, 82, of Moultrie, died Tuesday, June 25, 2002 at HealthSouth in Tallahassee, Fla. Services will be held at 11 a.m. today, June 27, at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Robertson officiating. Burial will be in Cobb Suncrest Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Eddie Hartley, Ronnie Fender, Bert Owens, Chris Helms, Harold Nations and Allen Hartley. Born March 3, 1920, in Thomas County, Mr. Hall was the son of the late Minnie Pittman Hall and Perry W. Hall. He was a retired accountant with the state of Georgia. Mr. Hall was a member of the Moultrie Senior Center and of Calvary Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Lorene Marie Hawkins Hall of Moultrie; a daughter, Patricia Hall Fender and husband Ronnie of Valdosta; stepdaughters, Jackie R. Nations of Atlanta, Geraldine Hartley of Hartsfield, Janice Helms of Memphis, Tenn., Marcy Stevens and Julie Owens, both of Tifton; a brother, Tommy Lee Hall; three grandchildren, Ronnie Fender, J.P. Jo Ann McClelland
VALDOSTA — Jo Ann McClelland, 49, of Valdosta, passed away Tuesday evening, June 25, 2002, at her residence. She was born in Pensacola, Fla., and had lived in Valdosta for the past 20 years. Survivors include her husband, George McClelland of Valdosta; one daughter, Heidi Hall of Valdosta; two sons, Chris Tillberg of Thomasville, Billy McClelland of Valdosta; one stepson, George McClelland III of St. Petersburg, Fla.; grandchildren, Kami, Taylor, D.J., Beau, Chase, Lane and Jared; one brother, Larry Bagley of West Palm Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Lela Street of Conroe, Texas, and Jackie Jenkins of Tampa, Fla. Carson Shane Roberts Jr.
VALDOSTA — Carson Shane Roberts Jr., infant son of Carson Shane Sr. and Kathryn Carr Roberts of Valdosta, passed away on June 22, 2002. He was born on May 7, 2002. He is survived by parents; maternal grandparents, Jack Edward and Cecelia Carr; paternal grandmother and her husband, Sue and J.C. Thompson, all of Valdosta; and paternal grandfather and his wife, Larry and Lucy Roberts of Statenville. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Wright’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Echols County with the Rev. L.A. Joiner and the Rev. Greg Lee officiating.
