Sue Browning
Sue Browning, 83, of Nashville died Saturday, April 13, 2002, at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born Dec. 27, 1918, in Berrien County to Jesse Swinson Gaskins and Florence Courson. She was a homemaker and retired executive secretary for the Berrien County Chamber of Commerce. She was member of the VFW Auxiliary, member and past worthy matron of the Eastern Star, member of the First Baptist Church and the widow of L.A. Browning, who died in 1968. She is survived by one daughter, Phyllis Waters, Valdosta; two sons, Al Browning, Nashville, Rodney Browning, Atlanta; one sister, Mildred Myers, Nashville; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2002 at the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Williams officiating. Burial will take place at Westview Cemetery. Visitation is today after 3 p.m. with family receiving friends from 7-9 p.m. — Lovein Funeral Home, Nashville.
William (Bill) Roland Knight III
William (Bill) Roland Knight III, 55, of Quitman passed away Saturday, April 13, 2002, at Brooks County Hospital following a lengthy illness. Mr. Knight was a telephone engineer for BellSouth and a member of the Presbyterian Church. He is survived by a son, Gregory (Charlynn) Knight of Charleston, S.C.; mother Wilma Knight, of Quitman; a sister Vikki (Dwight) Knight Kopp, of Atlanta. Graveside services for Mr. Knight will be held Tuesday, April 16, at 2 p.m. in Oak Hill Cemetery, with the Rev. Bobbi Neason and John Horton Sr., officiating. Janis Skinner Roux
Janis Skinner Roux, 48, of Valdosta, died suddenly at her home Saturday, April 12, 2002. Born in Dover, New Hampshire, she had lived in this area since 1993. Mrs. Roux had greatly enjoyed bowling with the Moody Markers Bowling Team and gardening in her yard. She was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include her husband, Ronald B. Roux of Valdosta; two daughters, Karen J. Roux of Valdosta and Renee D. Roux of Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, N.C.; a son, Michael D. Roux of Saginaw, Texas; two grandchildren, Brandon Roux and Logan Roux, both of Saginaw, Texas and her mother, Ethel N. Makosky of Portsmouth, N.H. Also surviving are two brothers, Alan R. Skinner of Wake Forest, N.C. and Frank L. Skinner of Portsmouth, N.H. and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Carson McLane Funeral Home today at 2 p.m.. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour before the service on Monday. Burial of the cremains will follow later in New Hampshire. — Carson McClane Funeral Home
Idella Sirmans
Idella Sirmans, 79, of Ray City, died on Sunday, April 14, 2002, at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born Oct. 1, 1922, in Berrien County to John W. Brantley and Nancy Hodges. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Ray City. She was the widow of Mack Sirmans, who died Sept. 18, 1995. She is survived by six daughters, Mary Winterburn, Ray City, Wilma Singletary, Howell, Willene Balfour, Plant City, Fla., Aline Hiam, Ray City, Tina Burkhalter, Ray City, Shirley Temples, Nashville; one sister, Letha Lee, Adel; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 11 a.m. April 17, 2002 at the First Baptist Church of Ray City with the Rev. Lee Graham officiating. Burial will be at Beaver Dam Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. on Tuesday. — Lovein Funeral Home, Nashville
Lucille Robinson
Lucille Robinson, 55, resided at 202 S. 10th Street in Lakeland passed this life on April 13, 2002 at her residence. Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Charles Knight Cemetery and the Rev. Johnny Brown will officiate. Final Rites are entrusted to Harrington Funeral Home Inc.
