Frank Deming
ALBANY — Frank Deming, 51, of Albany, died Tuesday at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany following a brief illness. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. today at Porterfield Memorial United Methodist Church with burial in Crown Hill Cemetery in Albany with the Rev. Nathan Godley and the Rev. Nancy Scarbrough officiating. Mr. Deming was a graduate of Valdosta High School, Florida State University and The Stonier School of Banking, Rutgers University. Mr. Deming had lived in Albany for the past 28 years. He was a financial planner for Merrill Lynch at the time of his death. Active in community affairs, Mr. Deming was a member of the Dougherty County Rotary Club, Leadership Albany and worked with the American Heart Association. Mr. Deming served on the Deerfield-Windsor Board of Trustees, which he chaired in 1999, as well as the Albany Sports Hall of Fame Board of Directors. A member of the Porterfield Memorial United Methodist Church, Mr. Deming served on the Pastor-Parish Committee, the Administrative Board and the Finance Committee, which he formerly chaired. He was also a member of the Seekers Sunday School Class and a former member of the Board of Trustees. Mr. Deming’s father is the late Lionel E. Deming. Survivors include his wife, Harriette Cooper Deming of Albany; son, Zack Cameron Deming of Athens; daughter, Meredith McCree Deming of Athens; mother, Caroline T. Lexie Juanita Folsom Dorminey
ELLENTON — Lexie Juanita Folsom Dorminey, 88, of Ellenton, died Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2002, surrounded by her family in the house in which she was born. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Nov. 1 at Buck Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Andy Croft and the Rev. Jon McCranie officiating with burial held in Buck Creek Cemetery. She was born on Sept. 27, 1914, in Colquitt County to the late Sallie Baker Folsom and Nathan W. Folsom. Mrs. Dorminey had lived in Colquitt County all of her life. Mrs. Dorminey was a retired educator, having taught or served as principal for 39 years in Colquitt County Schools. She served her community in many ways: Tax Counseling for the elderly, 15 years; Colquitt County Retired Teachers Association Member and all offices, 27 years; Retired Teachers Association Area II Director, four years; Buck Creek Baptist Church Clerk, 30 years; and Colquitt County Baptist Association Secretary, two years. Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Lloyd Dorminey; a daughter, Dr. Julia Dorminey of Americus; a son, Lex Dorminey and his wife, Debbie Dorminey of Albany; and a daughter, Sally Dorminey and her husband Ernie Moman of Valdosta; four grandchildren, Jennifer Dorminey, Ashley Dorminey, Sarah Moman and Nathan Moman; a sister, Mildred Mullis of Ellenton; a brother, Sidney Folsom and wife, Phyllis Folsom of Cordele; a sister-in-law, Mae Folsom of Norman Park; and a close friend, Barbara Willeby. Larry Keith Hough
VALDOSTA — Larry Keith Hough, 45, of Valdosta, passed away at his residence. Born in Richmond County, N.C., to Albert Davis and Peggy Bowman Hough, he has been a Valdosta resident since 1981. Mr. Hough was the owner of Hough Insurance Agency and a member of Forrest Street Church of Christ. Survivors include three daughters, Amber Hough of Valdosta, Shannon Hough of Raleigh, N. C., and Nikki Hough of Laurinburg, N.C.; his parents, Albert Sr. and Peggy Hough of Cador, N.C.; three grandchildren; two sisters, Kathy Hough of Morven, N.C., and Sona Hough of Uniontown, Ohio; three brothers, Joe Hough and Robert Hough, both of Ellerbee, N.C., and Albert Hough Jr. of Holly Springs, N.C.; numerous nieces and nephews; his fiance, Donna Beck of Valdosta. Services for Larry Keith Hough will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 1, 2002, at the Forrest Street Church of Christ. The visitation will be held from

Aaron Wallace Driskell
TIFTON– Aaron Wallace Driskell, 60, of Tifton, died on Oct. 29, 2002, at his residence. He was born on May 12, 1942, in Irwin County to Floell Banks Driskell of Tifton and the late Dawson Wallace Driskell. He lived most of his life in Tift County. Mr. Driskell was a retired agricultural parts manager and member of New Bethel Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Graddy Driskell of Tifton; four sons, Mark Driskell, Clarksville, Tenn., Paul Driskell, Tifton, Jerry Hayes, Adel, Jeffery Hayes, Adel; one daughter, Pam Medley, Adel; five grandchildren; one brother, Wayne Driskell, Tifton; and one sister, Gloria Moyer of Tifton. Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. today at the chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Funeral Home, Tifton, with the Rev. Brantley Seymour and the Rev. Larry Layfield officiating. Burial will be held in Tift Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Byrd Simmons, Isaac Whitley, Ben Batten, Allen Tanner, Coy Tawzer and Ronnie Batten. NASHVILLE — A.J. Stone Jr., 54, of Nashville, died on Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2002, at his residence. He was born on Sept. 28, 1948, in Berrien County to the late Aaron J. and Bessie Roland Stone. He was a nurse anesthetist for Berrien County Hospital and member of Hope Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Linda Wilson Stone of Nashville; two sons and daughter-in-law, Dr. Derek Stone of Augusta, Stuart and Sarah Stone of Nashville; one grandson, Andrew Stone, Nashville; two sisters, Cleo Waters and Betty Hall, both of Jacksonville, Fla.; and one brother, Joe Frank Stone of Jacksonville, Fla. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 1 at Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Southerland and the Rev. Steve Pickern officiating. Burial will be held in Westview Cemetery. Melvin Tillman
AMBERG, GERMANY — Retired CSM Melvin Tillman, 57, of Amberg, Germany, formerly of Fitzgerald, departed this life on Monday, Oct. 21, 2002, at Amberg Hospital in Amberg, Germany after an extended illness. He was born on Feb. 28, 1944, in Fitzgerald to the late Mr. and Mrs. Milton and Elnora Tillman. CSM Tillman retired from the U.S. Army and was presently employed with the Department of Defense Dependent School as a JROTC instructor at Vilseck High School in Vilseck, Germany. His precious memory will remain in the heart of his caring and devoted wife and friend, Shyrel Patricia Tillman; one daughter Shannon Tillman; sisters, Emma (Willie) Reese, Emma Culpepper and Roxy Devonish; brothers, Wiley Shavers, Clerance (Gloria) Myrick, Jerry Tillman and John (Carolyn) Hazelton; mother-in-law, Hortense Bass; sister-in-law, Helen (Leon) Walker; brothers-in-law, Hollie, William (Mandy), Leroy (June) and Cleveland (Jessie); also a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and sorrowing friends. James Russell “Jim” Patten Jr., 53, died at his home in New York, N.Y., on Oct. 25, 2002. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 2, 2002, in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home.
