Clarence David Holmes
HOMERVILLE — Mr. Clarence David Holmes, 55, of Homerville passed away Thursday, Aug. 22, 2002, in the South Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness. A native of Clinch County, he had lived in Valdosta for about 30 years. He was a retired logger and attended the Grace Baptist Church, Valdosta. He was the son of the late L. Holmes and Ida Howling Holmes.
Survivors are one daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Richard Hutchinson. Lake Park; two sons and daughter-in-law, Steve and Vicky Holmes and Jimmy Holmes, all of Valdosta; two sisters, Mary Bagley and Lillian Pitman, both of Homerville; one brother, Earnest Holmes, Kingsland, Ga.; two grandchildren, Maria Register and Taylor Hutchinson; and several other relatives. Funeral services for Mr. Holmes will be held at 11 a.m. today at Roundtree Funeral Home Chapel. Anthony Maurice “Pandy” Williams
VALDOSTA — Mr. Anthony Maurice “Pandy” Williams, 42, of Valdosta was called home Sunday, Aug. 18, 2002. He was born on Sept. 21, 1959, to Mrs. Freddie Nell Williams and the late Mr. Fred Lee Williams. He attended Valdosta City Schools. He was a member of St. John AME Church. He was employed at Hood Packaging Company. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Hezekiah Duncan, Sr. and Sam and Goldie Williams. He leaves to mourn; his loving, caring and devoted wife, Mrs. Lucy Hodges Williams, a loving, caring and devoted aunt, Geraldine “Cooky” Duncan; four daughters, Anitra Johnson, Petrina Johnson, Shonteria Henton and Sonia Williams (Bernard), all of Valdosta; two sons, Seaborn Williams (Gwen) and Arthur Lee Nelson of Valdosta; one-stepson, Fabian Johnson of Valdosta; one sister, Latonya Evans (Mike) of Valdosta; three brothers, Sammie Williams, Michael Williams and Terry “Tucson” Williams, all of Boston, Mass.; four brothers-in-law, Luther Hodges, Amos Mathis, Stanley Hodges and Benjamin Matchett; two wonderful sisters-in-law, Diane Mathis and Joann Hodges. A very special and devoted cousin, Weldon (Quint) Neloms (Laverne). He also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. today at St. John AME Church. The Rev. George Vereen, pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Pallbearer Cemetery. — Scott And Roberts Mortuary

ADEL — Mrs. Sarah T. Wright, 92, of Adel died on Aug. 22, 2002, at the Presbyterian Home in Quitman after a short illness. She was born on May 6, 1910, in Cook County to the late Will and Ada Kirkpatrick Tucker. She lived in Cook County all of her life. She was a homemaker, retired piano teacher and member of Adel Presbyterian Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ellis H. Wright and two sons, Elwood Henry Wright and John Howell Wright. She is survived by two daughters, Barbara A. “Bobbie” Gordon and Eleanor W. “Bitsie” Burt, both of Adel; eight grandchildren; 14 great- grandchildren; seven great- great- grandchildren; and one sister, Juanita Tucker White of Savannah. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today at Adel Presbyterian Church with Pastor Eric Gordon and the Rev. Brian Baer officiating. Burial will be held in Woodlawn City Cemetery. Funeral services for Mr. Olen Demps, age 57, of Miami, Fla., will be held on Sunday, Aug. 25, 2002, at 3 p.m. at the Mount Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Quitman, with Rev. Floyd Demps officiating. Burial will follow in the North End Cemetery in Quitman. Stevens-McGhee Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Billy F. Fender, 54, of Hahira passed away Friday afternoon, Aug. 23, 2002, in South Georgia Medical Center. Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date. Music Funeral Services of Valdosta is serving the Fender family.

Ralph L. Griner, 80, of Homerville passed away early Friday, Aug. 23, 2002, in the VA Medical Center in Lake City, Fla. He was born in Clinch County and lived in the Ft. Pierce Fla. area many years before coming back to Homerville for retirement. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date. — Music Funeral Services of Valdosta is serving the Griner family.
Funeral services for Mrs. Ida Lee Robinson, age 50, of Quitman will be held on Sunday, Aug. 25, 2002, at 11 a.m. at the Liberty Baptist Church in Quitman with Rev. Redman officiating.
