Bobbie B. Arnold

NASHVILLE — Bobbie B. Arnold, 62, of Nashville, passed away Wednesday evening at the Berrien County Hospital in Nashville following an extended illness. A native of Deland, Fla., Mr. Arnold was born on Oct. 7, 1939, son of Cleo and Melba Corbitt Arnold. Survivors include six brothers, Vernie Arnold, J.C. Arnold and David Arnold, all of Nashville, Cleo Arnold Jr, Homerville, Richard Arnold, Statenville, Jack Arnold, Hagerstown, Md.; four sisters, Pauline Thomas and Louise Fender of Ocean Springs, Miss., Kathy Westberry and JoAnn McQueen of Nashville; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mr. Arnold will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Arna Primitive Baptist Church with the Rev. Keith Chauncey officiating. Burial will follow in Arna Cemetery. Cecile Bouchard

VALDOSTA — Cecile Bouchard, 85, of Valdosta, died on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002, at Heritage House Nursing Home. She was born on May 12, 1916, in Fort Kent, Maine to the late Peter and Delima Plourde and had lived in Valdosta for 26 years. Mrs. Bouchard was retired from Levi’s Clothing Manufacturer and was a member of the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Sonia and Ed Knowles of Valdosta; her son, Vaughn Bouchard of Millinocket, Maine; grandchildren, Amy (Kevin) Strickland, Miranda Bouchard, Austin Bouchard and Andrea’ Bouchard; one sister, Joan Willett of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two brothers, Roland Plourde of Vero Beach, Fla., and Maurice Plourde of Jacksonville, Fla.; a very dear friend, Marilyn Shiver of Valdosta. She was preceded in death by her husband, Montfort Bouchard, a son, Garland Bouchard, three brothers and three sisters. Funeral mass will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Father John O’Brien and Father Marvin LeFrois officiating. Mrs. Bouchard will be cremated and burial will be in St. Agata, Maine in the spring. A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home with visitation following until 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Building Fund. — Carson McLane Funeral



Dale Faulkner Fountain

ADEL — Dale Faulkner Fountain, 46, of Adel, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 20, 2002, at her residence after a lengthy illness. She was born on Jan. 12, 1956, in Berrien County and lived most of her life in Cook County. Mrs. Dale Fountain was a Baptist by faith. She was employed by South Georgia Surgical Center in Tifton. Survivors include her loving husband, Terry Lee Fountain of Adel; her loving mother, Betty Faulkner of Enigma; two wonderful sisters, Barbara Fullerton of Nashville and Gail Miley of Enigma; one outstanding brother, Bobby Faulkner, also of Nashville. Mrs. Dale Fountain was preceded in death by her father, Leroy Faulkner; and her father-in-law, B.L. Fountain Jr. of Adel. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at the chapel of Purvis Funeral Home of Adel with Brother Donnie Sloan speaking on her behalf. Cleveland Kyer Jr.

VALDOSTA — Cleveland Kyer Jr., 70, of Valdosta, died on Feb. 18, 2002, at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born on June 5, 1931, in Douglas to Solphia Lee Gillis Kyer and the late Cleveland Kyer Sr. He attended Antioch Christian School, retired as a truck driver after 40 years; and was a member and deacon of Antioch Christian Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Neal Kyer, two daughters, Essie Mae Hunter and Rose Mary Tucker; two grandchildren, Monica Vickers Manning and Ingrent “Candy” Kyer Miller; one brother, Elliott Kyer. He is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Vera Wilkerson, Gloria Christopher (Johnny), Thelma Roberts (James), Eleanor McBurrough (Levone), all of Valdosta; three sons, Cleveland Kyer III of Union Town, Ala., Reginald Kyer and Ernest Kyer, both of Valdosta; 24 grand





children; 45 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; stepmother, Marish Kyer of Lake Park; one sister, Carrie M. Kyer of Coma; one brother and sister-in-law, Lee Ander Kyer (Carolyn), Coma; five sisters- in-law, Ora Bell Curtis (John Lee), Dorothy O’Neal, both of Valdosta, Willie Mae Washington of Miami, Fla., Johnny Mae Davis (Leroy), Orlando, Fla. and Audie Ford; and half brother, Frank Williams. Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Greater Union Ministries with Bishop Wade S. McCrae, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Christian Cemetery. — Harrington Funeral Home



Pamela Pope Manley

BARWICK — Pamela Pope Manley, 69, of Barwick, died on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2002, at her residence after a lengthy illness. Born in Brooks County, she was the daughter of James Augustus and Fannie Nell Brewer Pope. She was a social worker and a member of the Barwick Baptist Church. She graduated from Barwick High School, received her Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University, her Master of Social Work degree at Columbia University in New York, and her Ph.D degree at the University of Chicago. She was a social worker and had 25 years of work experience in child welfare, mental health, mental retardation and substance abuse. She had 15 years in social work education. In the year 2000, she received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the State of Georgia — The National Association of Social Workers. She was a member of the Governor’s Council on Developmental Disabilities. Her motto was “Caring Opens Doors.” Mrs. Manley was the first female vice president of Archbold Memorial Hospital. She is survived by two daughters, Melissa Manley of Barwick, Frances and Gary Sides of Havelock, N.C.; one son, Brian Manley of Barwick; one brother and sister-in-law, Brewer and Sue Pope of Barwick; and aunt, Margaret Humphrey; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Manley; parents, J.A. and Fannie Nell Brewer Pope; a son, Eric Edward Manley; and two sisters, Beryl Simons and Estrella Matthews. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Rosewood Cemetery with the Rev. Philip Hudson and the Rev. Ned Simmons officiating. The family will receive friends after the service in the Educational Building of the Barwick Baptist Church. Johnnie B. Moore Sr.

VALDOSTA — Johnnie B. Moore Sr. of Valdosta passed away on Feb. 14, 2002, at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta. Mr. Moore was born on Sept. 3, 1923, in Colquitt County. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maggie C. Moore, and one granddaughter, Melissa Moore. He leaves to mourn his passing one sister, Gladys Thompson of Hahira; three daughters, Maggie Tumbling (Elijah) of Stone Mountain, Fannie Gilbert (Olden) of Valdosta, Emma J. Brown (Ronnie) of Memphis, Tenn.; seven sons, J.T. Moore (Wilma) of Adel, Birtell Moore (Brenda), Valdosta, Johnnie B. Moore (Emma), Valdosta, Benjamin Moore (Karen), Warner Robins, Michael Moore (Cora Ann), Lawrence Moore (Shirley), Isaac Moore (Dee Anna), all of Valdosta; three sisters-in-law, Mattie Butler of Hahira, Rena Mae White of Fresno, Calif., and Luella Miley of St. Petersburg, Fla.; 26 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Providence Church in Hahira. The Rev. Johnnie Quarterman will officiate. The Rev. Wade is the pastor. Mary Carolyn Sinclair Sauls

TIFTON — Mary Carolyn Sinclair Sauls, 67, of Tifton, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002, at Tift Regional Medical Center. She was born on Oct. 24, 1934, in Tifton to the late James Giddens and Louise Elmira Strickland Sinclair. She was a lifetime resident of Tifton. Mrs. Sauls was an office manager of Tifton Radiology since 1968, and member of the American Association of Medical Assistants, attended Valdosta State College, was an avid genealogist, member of T

ifton’s First Baptist Church, and a member of the Gardener’s Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack L. Sauls; stepmother, Irene Fredrick Sinclair; and sister-in-law, Rae Jean Fletcher Sinclair. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Denise Sauls of Valdosta, David and Beth Sauls of Charlotte, N.C.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Jacque and Alan Odom of Rebecca, Marsha and Bill Towson of Tifton; one brother and sister-in-law, James Strickland Sinclair and Jane A. Sinclair of Tifton; one stepbrother and sister-in-law, Cecil and Shirley Fredrick of Tifton; two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Frank and Lillie Mae Sauls of Tifton, Frances S. and Rudy Cox of Tifton; grandchildren, Christopher and Jessi Sauls of Charlotte, Hilary and Emily Sauls of Valdosta, Nikki Kimbrell of Rebecca, Sarah, Matthew and Pate Odom of Rebecca; nieces and nephews, John McKiethen Sinclair of South Portland, Maine, Shawn Elizabeth Sinclair of East Haddam, Conn., Ed Sauls of Sylvester, Frank Sauls Jr. of Tifton, Terry Lynn Truman of Fitzgerald, Guy Cox and Gina Cox, both of Tifton. Mrs. Saul’s body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to service time. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of First Baptist Church, Tifton, with Dr. W. Wayne Roe and Dr. W. Ches Smith III officiating. Burial will be in Oakridge Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kieth Sinclair, Guy Cox, Frank Sauls Jr., Ed Sauls, Emerson Wilson, Billy Allen, Lee Whittle and Ben Towson.
