Walter S. Bradley Sr.

VALDOSTA — Walter S. Bradley Sr., 40, of Valdosta died on Jan. 31, 2003.

He was born on Dec. 9, 1962, in Lowndes County to the late Samuel M. Bradley, Jr. and Evelina Green Bradley. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sisters, Ossie M. Bradley and Shirley M. Bradley and one brother, Samuel M. Bradley, III.

He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Bradley; his children, Tarance Bradley, Kynhdra Bradley, Wanda S. Bradley, Celes Bradley, Marcus Bradley, Shazaar Bradley, and Walter L. Bradley, Jr.; one grandson, Tarance Bradley, Jr.; a special friend, Nichole Vann; brothers, Elder Johnny E. Bradley (Annie) of Valdosta, Willie James Bradley of Ft. Myers, Fla., Ulysses Bradley of Rosedale, Miss.; sisters, Joyce M. Davis of Ft. Myers, Fla., Wanda S. Rhymn (Wallace) of Ft. Myers, Fla., and Annie Joyce White (Bernard) of Jacksonville, Fla.; step mother, Becky Brown Bradley of Stockton, Ala.; aunts, Johnnie Mae Donaldson of Valdosta, Mildred Brown of St. Petersburg, Fla., Ruby Lewis of Jacksonville, Fla. and Lula M. Woodruff of Gainesville, Fla.; uncles, Adam Roe of Valdosta, Hosea Woodruff of Gainesville, Fla.; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Home going service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, 2003, at Tabernacle Church of God In Christ with Elder Johnny Bradley, Pastor officiating. Burial will be held in Howell Cemetery in Howell, Ga. — Harrington Funeral Home



Anna Jean Ceasar

VALDOSTA — Anna Jean Ceasar, 52, of Valdosta died Monday, Feb. 3, 2003, at South Georgia Medical Center.

Born on March 30, 1950, in Valdosta, she resided at 606 Magnolia Street.

She confessed Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of First Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. She was employed by South Georgia Medical Center in the Food Services department.

Ms. Ceasar was preceded in death by her grandmother, Lucy Franklin Berrian; her parents, Russell and Minnie Gibson Ceasar; and three sisters, Charlie Mae Sanford, Mary Lucy Coes, and Devoria Ceasar.

She is survived by two daughters, Cassandra Caesar and Alesia (Demond) Burton; two grandchildren, Asja Burton and Malik Burton, all of Valdosta; two brothers, Norman (Diane) Ceasar of Inkster, Mich., Sam (Carleen) Ceasar of Florida City, Fla.; four sisters, Beverly Johnson, Miami, Pearlie Lipscomb, Valdosta, Geraldine (Rev. James) Greene, Thomasville; Rev. Gladys McClain, Miami; and a host of special nieces, nephews and devoted friends.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, 2003, at First Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Albert Lee Barfield, pastor. The Rev. Gregory Homer of Fort Valley, Ga., officiating. The body will lie in state at the church from 1 p.m. until service time on Saturday. Burial will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery. — Scott and Roberts Mortuary



Harriet Bishop Fitzgerald

GREENVILLE, Fla. — Harriet Bishop Fitzgerald, 81, of Greenville, Fla. died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003, in Valdosta.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9, 2003, at Beggs Funeral Home Madison Chapel, Madison, Fla. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Greenville, Fla. Family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, 2003, at the funeral home.

She was a native of Key West, Fla. and had lived in Miami before moving to Greenville in 1951. She worked for the postal service for nearly 20 years. She was very family oriented and love to sew and cook. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Greenville and present member at Greenville Baptist Church in Greenville, Fla.

She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Cecil Fitzgerald, Greenville; two sons, Douglas Bishop (Janine) of Tarpon Springs, Fla., Donald Bishop (Doris), Madison, Fla., one daughter, Patsy Davis (Archie), Hickory Grove Community; three stepsons, Jimmy Fitzgerald (Rita), Winter Haven, Fla., Donald Fitzgerald, Anthony, Fla., Steve Fitzgerald (Babs), Moultrie; one sister, DeLena McClaren, Ft. LAKE PARK — Lionellee (Lee) L. May, 82, of Lake Park died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003, at her home after a lengthy illness. She was born on Dec. 18, 1920, in Houston, Texas to the late Lionel Herbert and Willina Laurraine Cornwell. Mrs. May lived in Farmington, Mich. before moving to Lake Park in 1977. She was a member of Twin Lakes Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Verne W. May; her son, Richard Lionel May and Jacqui, Deerfield Beach, Fla.; her daughter, Diane Lynn and George Thomas, Amery, Wis.; five grandchildren, Todd May, Tracey Buskirk, Leslee Thomas-Donovan, Kristin Smith, Jennifer Christenson; 12 great-grandchildren, Krista, Melissa and Elizabeth May, Jessica, Kellie and Nicholas Willis, Grace and Cecilia Donovan, Caleb, Luke and Kathryn Smith, Maxwell Christenson; one brother, William Sharp, Traverse City, Mich.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, 2003, in the Chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with the Rev. John Akers officiating. Burial will follow in McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. this evening. Pearlie Mae Miller

VALDOSTA — Pearlie Mae Miller expired on Monday, Feb. 3, 2003, at Crestwood Nursing Home.

She was born on Dec. 24, 1909, to the late Frank Hodge and Mary Hodge in Valdosta.

Mrs. Miller joined St. Timothy AME Church at an early age. She attended the county school system and was retired from domestic work.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hansel Miller, four brothers, Pete D. Williams, Archie Williams, Frank Hodge, William Thomas, and six sisters, Mary A. Wesley, Ella Wooten, Bessie Brown, Nona Whitter, Georgia A. Lynch, Lola M. Green.

She is survived by three devoted nieces, Bonnie Fagins of Andrews AFB, Md., Cassandra Gail Gaines of Valdosta and Brenda Tisdale of Valdosta. Also a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A special thanks to the Crestwood Nursing Home staff.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Timothy AME Church and the Rev. U.S. Barber is pastor and the Rev. Booker T. Jenkins will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery. — Harrington Funeral Home



James Thomas ‘Bubba’ Riley

STATENVILLE — James Thomas “Bubba” Riley, 24, of Statenville died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Brooks County. He was born in Savannah on Nov. 26, 1978, and was a lifetime resident of this area. Mr. Riley was a field foreman with Georgia Automatic Sprinkler Company and a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, Kristie Riley; son, Nathan Riley both of Statenville; his father, Larry Riley of Garnett, S.C.; his mother and stepfather, Shirley and Virgil Wheeler of Statenville; his sister, Tessa Lee Riley of Lake Park.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, 2003, in the chapel of McLane Lakewood Funeral Home in Lake Park with the Rev. Bob Willis officiating. Alexander Kelly Sessoms II

Mr. Alexander Kelly Sessoms II passed away Thursday afternoon at his residence following an extended illness.

A native of Ware County, he had lived in Clinch County most of his life. He had worked in all aspects of the timber industry. He was vice president of Union Timber Corporation in Homerville for 30 years and was a member of the First Baptist Church, Homerville. He was chairman of the Clinch County Board of Education when the present high school was built and served several terms on the board of education. He was the son of the late Alexander Sessoms and Annie Laurie Adams Sessoms.

Survivors are one daughter and son-in-law, Kathee and Mike Wilkins, Savannah; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ben and Carri Sessoms, Lake

City, Fla., and Kelly and Beth Sessoms, Ocean Springs, Miss.; his former wife and mother of his children, Jann West Sessoms, Homerville; one sister and brother-in-law, Joy and Johnny Crumbley, Cogdell; one brother, Bob Sessoms, Cogdell; four grandchildren, Jack Sessoms and Elizabeth Sessoms, Ocean Springs, Miss., Zachary Wilkins, Savannah and Lynda Lockamy, Lake City, Fla.; three nieces and a nephew-and-law, Carra and Russ Goodman, Juliana Crumbley and Cheri Sessoms, all of Cogdell; and several other relatives.

Funeral services for Mr. Sessoms will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. from the First Baptist Church, Homerville. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery, Waycross.

Mr. Sessoms will remain at the funeral home where the family will receive friends tonight from 7-9 p.m. with visitation after 5 p.m. Mr. Sessoms will be carried to the church one hour prior to services. — Roundtree Funeral Home, Homerville.



Mamie Carter Starling

VALDOSTA — Mamie Carter Starling, 101, of Valdosta died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2003, at her home after a short illness. She was born on Dec. 30, 1901, in Lowndes County to the late Phillip and Annie Wetherington Carter and was a lifelong resident. Mrs. Starling was a Baptist.

Survivors include her seven children, Margaret Butler, Elwood (Ruth) Starling, Catherine S. Brown, Evelyn (Jesse) Brown, Annie Lee (Ralph) Santorelly, Donald Starling and William Starling; 26 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great- grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elzie Starling; two children, Lilian Starling and Fonderan Starling; five brothers, two sisters and three grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, 2003, at Cat Creek Cemetery with Mr. Jason Roberts officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home. — Carson McLane Funeral Home



Mr. Ervin Baker, Sr., of Jasper, Fla. passed away on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003, at Suwannee Healthcare Center of Live Oak, Fla.
