Barnes responds

“I have been pounding legislature with e-mails and mails about a friend with liver cancer who is getting the run around from Medicaid. Roy Barnes was the only one who responded. Not even Sanford Bishop responded to my efforts to help a man who is going to die in two months if he doesn’t get his operation from Medicaid.”

Slow down, bug man

“We do appreciate the city spraying for mosquitoes, but we still have a lot of big mosquitoes around because the guy comes around spraying at 50 mph.”

Bush to blame

“Thanks to all the Georgians who voted for George W. on what he has done for the base at Warner Robins. Maybe the people of Georgia will wake up and see what George W. really is. All this is is pay back to his cronies. Which base will be next? Moody?”

Wasting water

“To all the people complaining about the water shortage and unnecessary watering of the lawns, I live in south Cook County and am surrounded by grass farms. They run their big irrigation units 24 hours a day sucking up our precious water out of the ground. My well went dry and I had to have a new well drilled. Grass is not a necessity. Why isn’t something done about them?”

Saving a life

“Thank you SGMC CICU. You saved my husband’s life with your quick and professional service. Special thanks to Dr. Trey, Dave, Shawn, Donna, Karen and Sandy. God bless you all.”

Thanks for everything

“A great big hug for all the people who work for Dr. Hunt. They have the greatest amount of passion for their patients. Thanks for being there. I am pleased and appreciate Dr. Hunt and his staff.”

No photo needed

“I think The Valdosta Daily Times needs to revisit the decision to publish the picture of Dalton Short with his injuries on the front page. You can do better than this. The child has expressed being uncomfortable with his injuries and how other children may react to it. The story could have been covered without showing this child.”

Camp in bad shape

“Why is Camp Relitso in such bad shape? A lot of people donate their time and money to that place and it still looks like a condemned area.”

Listen to teachers

“I hope the Lowndes Board of Education will listen to teacher input in choosing a new superintendent. We are the ones dealing with the education of children each day. We know what is needed in our schools. We need someone from within the school system for the job.”

Lesson to learn

“I think it is terrible what happened to that poor child on Wednesday’s front page and I hope some plastic surgeon in town will offer to help.”

Big spender

“Because Mr. Warren Lee on the Valdosta School Board finds it so easy to spend an extra $2 million of taxpayers money, he will be my example for not supporting SPLOST for the school board in the future.”
