Lee David Ball
JASPER, Fla. — Lee David Ball, 62, of Jasper, Fla., died Friday, April 2, 2004, in a Valdosta Hospital. Mr. Ball was a native of Nashville, Ga., and had been a resident of Hamilton County since 1975. He retired from PCS in 2001, after 26 years and served in the U.S. Army for six years.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah Ball of Jasper; three sons, David Ray Ball of Vancover, Wash., James Edward Ball of Hahira and Charlie Ball of Jasper; four daughters, Daphne Coleman of Hattiesburg, Miss., Priscilla Wilson of Vancover, Wash., Kelinda Hughes of Jasper, and Sheila Gonzalez of Jasper; and 12 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, April 4, 2004, in the chapel of Harry T. Reid Funeral Home with burial held at 4 p.m. in the Vickers Baptist Church Cemetery of Enigma, Ga. Randolpho ‘Randy’ Cubino
MOULTRIE– Randolpho “Randy” Cubino, 28, of Moultrie, died on Thursday, April 1, 2004, in Sylvester from injuries sustained in an accident. He was born on Nov. 23, 1975, in St. Petersburg, Fla. Mr. Cubino was a fireman with the Moultrie Fire Department, Station 1 and was of the Catholic Faith.
He is survived by a son, Christopher Cubino, St. Petersburg, Fla.; father and stepmother, Robert and Carol Cubino of Hahira; mother and stepfather, Terri and James Brand of St. Petersburg, Fla.; sister and brother-in-law, Toni and Robert Wilson of Bradenton, Fla.; paternal grandmother, Olga Cubino of Pinellas Park, Fla.; five stepsisters and their spouses, Katie Newton, Brenda and Leslie Redding, Gail Clanton, Vanessa and Tommy Gibbs, all of Hahira, Becky and Jim Senn of Omaha, Neb.; special friend, Ernie Wimberly; very special friend, Desiree Robinson; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and his family at the Moultrie Fire Department Station 1. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Roberto Cubino Sr.; maternal grandparents, Charlie and Agnes Crosby; great-grandmother, Cecelia Quesada; and grandparents, Arthur and Evelyn Hurst.
Funeral services for Mr. Cubino will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 4, 2004, in the chapel of the Martin McLane Funeral Home. The family will receive friends this evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Martin-McLane Funeral Home in Hahira. E. Steve Norris
VALDOSTA — E. Steve Norris, 66, of Valdosta, died Thursday, April 1, 2004, at South Georgia Medical Center. Born on April 30, 1937, in St. Clair County, Ala., he was the son of Ernest Samuel Norris and Mamie Dubose Norris. A lifelong resident of Valdosta, he was a certified mechanic for local Cheverolet and GMAC dealerships. Mr. Norris was in the National Guard and a member of Gateway Baptist Church.
He is also survived by his wife, Carmen Lynn Norris of Valdosta; daughter, Allison Loraine Norris of Los Angeles; brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Ann Norris of Birmingham, Ala.; sister-in-law, Jean Schoonover of Los Angeles, Calif.; nephew, Ricky Norris of Birmingham, Ala.; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Mike and Rosa Travis of Las Vegas, Nev., Gregory Travis of Los Angeles, Calif.; aunts and uncle, Etta Ruth and Laverne Hare of Ragland, Ala., Annie Mae Gahagen of Metareie, La.; and a number of nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Mamie Norris; and a brother, Clifford Norris.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., today, April 3, 2004, in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with the Rev. Nelson Grist officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Gardens. Samuel M. Partin
LAKELAND — Samuel M. Partin, 74, of Lakeland, passed away Thursday, April 1, 2004, in South Georgia Medical Center. He was born in Jeff Davis County but lived in Lakeland most of his life. He worked 20 years for Patten Milling Company before going to work at Nashville Mills, where he retired. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Lakeland where he served as deacon, member of the choir and Sunday School secretary. Mr. Partin enjoyed fishing and watching his birds. He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Verma S. Partin, Lakeland, Ga.; daughters and sons-in-law, Beverly and Frank Palerino, Lakeland, Ga., Sharon and Buzzy Kight, Naylor, Ga., Pamela Partin; grandchildren and spouses, Natalie and Craig Ives, Quitman, Ga., Nathan and Misty Palerino, Lakeland, Ga., Cary and Erika Kight, Homerville, Ga., Travis Kight, Homerville, Ga., Kelly Kight, Naylor, Ga.; five great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Ann Partin, Sunrise, Fla.; sisters and brother-in-law, Annette Jones, Nashville, Ga., Saralene and Richard Brewer, Nashville, Tenn.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, April 4, 2004, in the First Baptist Church of Lakeland with burial in the Greenlawn Cemetery. Mr. Partin will lie in state one hour prior to service time. Visitation will be today from 7-9 p.m.

Dee J. Summerlin
VALDOSTA — Dee J. Summerlin, 64, of Valdosta, died on Thursday, April 1, 2004, at her residence. Born on July 18, 1939, in Tampa, Fla., she was the daughter of Mary Stinson Smith and the late Howard Jackson. She was of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Summerlin is survived by four sons, Steve Summerlin, Paul Summerlin, Peter Kent Summerlin III, David Summerlin, all of Florida; five daughters, Sherrell Ansley, Laurel Hall, both of Valdosta, Samantha Little of Baltimore, Md., Tracey Brown of Mt. Dora, Fla., Sheila Shaw of Valdosta; 16 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; 12 brothers and sisters. She was preceded in death by husbands, Hoyt S. Summerlin Sr., Peter K. Summerlin Sr.; and a son, Peter K. Summerlin II.

William R. “Bill” Blankenship, 72, of Ray City, Ga., passed away Wednesday afternoon, March 31, 2004, at his residence following an apparent heart attack.
