VALDOSTA — C.E. Boatright, 85, of Lake City, Fla., died on Thursday, Aug. 28, 2003, in Valdosta.

The son of the late Clifford Eugene Sr. and Margaret C. Helmy Boatright, he was born on Aug. 10, 1918, in Tennille, Ga. After retiring from the motel business, Mr. Boatright enjoyed entertaining, playing the piano, organ and singing. He entertained professionally, as well as volunteered for various church and civic functions. His favorite pastime was ocean cruising with his wife and family. He was of the Church of God faith.

Survivors are a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon B. and Archie Frier of Lake City, Fla.; three grandchildren, Laurie Patrice of Atlanta, Ga., Kevin Lancaster of Valdosta, Ga., Jonathan Frier of Atlanta; four great-grandchildren, Brandon Swift, Katelyn Lancaster, both of Valdosta, Matthew Frier, Andrea Frier, both of Atlanta; a sister, Elsie Marchman of Tennille. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Louise Shaw Boatright; and sisters, Katie Muriel Orr and Eudelle Trawick.

Graveside services for Mr. Boatright will be at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 31, 2003, in Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at the Carson McLane Funeral Home. — Carson McLane Funeral Home



RIVERVIEW, Fla. — Sarah Flanders, 95, of Riverview, Fla., died Aug. 25, 2003, at her residence. She was born Jan. 17, 1908, in Cook County to the late Gilbert and Bessie Belle Giddens Castleberry. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Miami and a retired elementary school teacher and a seamstress.

She is survived by two daughters, Sarah Martha Emerson of Temple Terrace, Fla., and Iris Oladell of Riverview, Fla.; one sister, Irene Dockins of Knoxville, Tenn.; eight grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph L. Flanders Jr.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Evergreen Baptist Church with the Rev. Elias Paulk officiating. Burial will follow in Rountree Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 7-9 p.m. at Boone-Lipsey Funeral Home, Hwy. 41 South. — Boone-Lipsey Funeral Home



VALDOSTA — Harold Krieger, 77, of Valdosta, died Friday, Aug. 29, 2003, at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born in Valdosta on Oct. 13, 1925, to the late Isadore and Katie Golivesky Krieger. Mr. Krieger was a retail merchant, a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, a member of Temple Israel, AEPi, fraternal organization, the American Legion, a graduate of Valdosta High School and the University of Georgia.

He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Hart Krieger of Valdosta; one sister and brother-in-law, Lou and Byron Cohen, Atlanta; one sister-in-law, Ethel Krieger, Valdosta; many nieces and nephews in Valdosta and Atlanta. Mr. Krieger was predeceased by his sister, Marion Levin, and brother, Joel Krieger.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 31, 2003, at the graveside in Riverview Memorial Gardens with Rabbi Moshe Elbaz officiating. Burial will follow. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. — Carson McLane Funeral Home

Mary Ann Wyche, 37, of Pavo, passed away on Friday, Aug. 29, 2003, at the John D. Archbold Medical Center in Thomasville. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time but will be announced later by the Stevens-McGhee Funeral Home of Quitman.
