Temperance Ruth Mann Brown
LAKE PARK — Temperance Ruth Mann Brown, 92, longtime resident of Lake Park, died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2003, at the Suwannee Valley Nursing Center in Jasper, Fla., after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Brown was born on April 19, 1911, in St. Cloud Fla. to the late William M. and Gertrude Partin Mann. She was a housewife and a member of Jennings Missionary Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Sue and H.J. Platt Jr. of Lake Park; her sons and their wives, Neil and Loveeda Brown of Jacksonville, Fla., C.W. and Betty Brown Jr. of Jacksonville, Fla., Don and Vera Brown of Macon; her daughter-in-law, Donna Brown of Lake Park; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cossie W. Brown Sr.; her infant son, Robert Sherman Brown; son, J.P. Brown; and one grandson, Curtis Brown. Mrs. Brown was the last of 10 children.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2003, in the chapel of McLane Lakewood Funeral Home in Lake Park with the Rev. Ronald Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in Carter Cemetery. The family will receive visitors today from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Craig Camp
VALDOSTA — Craig Camp, 49, of Valdosta, passed away Saturday evening at South Georgia Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born in Fulton County and had lived in this area for most of his life. He spent most of his life working in the motel industry before becoming ill. He was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl H. Camp of Valdosta; daughter and son-in-law, Shannon and Trevor Pollock, Valdosta; son and daughter-in-law, Andy and Jessica Camp, Valdosta; grandchildren, Kaitlin, Austin and Dustin; brother, David Camp of Ft. Worth, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2003, in the Valdosta Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial following in Copeland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. — Music Funeral Services of Valdosta
Marsha Faye Barnes Bates
Marsha Faye Barnes Bates, 56, of Valdosta, died at home Sunday, Aug. 17, 2003. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Friday, Aug. 22, 2003, at Christ Episcopal Church Parish Hall. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 23, 2003, at Christ the King Episcopal Church.
