Lonnie Eugene ‘Lon’ Collier, Jr.
Lonnie Eugene ‘Lon’ Collier, Jr., 39, of Echols County, died Saturday, March 13, 2004, from injuries sustained in an accident. He was employed at Packaging Corp. of America for the past 19 years. He loved all forms of racing as a hobby.
Survivors are his wife, Lucy Jo Collier, Echols County; his parents, Lonnie and Nell Collier of Statenville; two sons, Lonnie Eugene “Trae” Collier III and Bradley Elliot Collier, both of Valdosta; two stepchildren, Leona O. Crosby and T. J. Crosby of Echols County; two brothers, Sean Collier of Statenville and Dwain Purswell of South Port, Fla.; a grandmother, Ovis Deas of Jennings, Fla.; his mother-in-law, Betty Jo Stephens of Statenville; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Wallace Deas, and his grandfather and grandmother, Joe and Sallie Collier.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, 2004, at Statenville Cemetery. Rev. Ralph Dillard will officiate. The family will receive friends at McLane Lakewood Funeral Home in Lake Park from 6-8 p.m. today.– McLane Lakewood Funeral Home

Terry Eugene Fye, 78, of Jasper, Fla., died Saturday, March 13, 2004, in a Gainesville hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Chapel of Harry T. Eddie Hadley Sr.
Eddie Hadley Sr., 94, of Brooks County, died Friday, March 12, 2004, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 17, 2004, at Pineview Freewill Baptist Church in Brooks County, with the Rev. Willie Boatman, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the Pineview Freewill Baptist Church cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the hour of the funeral. — Washington Funeral Home.
