Elnora Graves Fykes

SPARKS — Elnora Graves Fykes, 81, of Sparks, died Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2004, at Memorial Hospital of Adel after a long illness.

Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Friday at the chapel of Boone-Lipsey Funeral Home with the Rev. Dillard Ensley and the Rev. Harris Whitman officiating. Interment is in Sparks City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. tonight at Boone-Lipsey Funeral Home, Highway 41 South.

Born May 13, 1923, in Simson County, Ky., she lived most of her life in Cook County. A member of Sparks United Methodist Church, she was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Bird Rather Graves and Minta Gaines Graves; and her husband, Robert Ausbon Fykes.

Survivors are two sons and daughters-in-law, Ferris and Mimi Fykes, Tallahassee, Fla., and Bruce and Sharon Fykes, Rocky Mount, N.C.; a daughter, Tammy Bickers, Sparks; grandchildren, Jason Fykes, Vero Beach, Fla., Gia Fykes Rowell, Quincy, Fla., Brent Fykes, Jupiter, Fla., Wendy Fykes, Jacksonville, Fla., Amanda Morrison, Adel, and Melissa Hill, Sparks; and great-grandchildren, Katie Howell and William Howell, Quincy, Fla., and John Morrison and Shane Morrison, Sparks, Ga.

Fykes was preceded in death by three brothers, Hadley Graves, Herston Graves and Haskel Graves. — Boone-Lipsey Funeral Home Inc.



Buna Griffis

NASHVILLE — Buna Griffis, 96, of Nashville died Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2004, at Berrien County Hospital.

Born July 18, 1908, in Berrien County, she was the daughter of Walt and Amanda Hendley. A homemaker, she was the widow of Reavis Griffis, who died in 1969.

Griffis was preceded in death by two sons, Walter Griffis, who died in 1983, and Jimmy Griffis, who died in 1991.

Survivors are a son, Gene Griffis, Nashville; and eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are at 2 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 12, 2004, at the chapel of Lovein Funeral Home. The Rev. Allen Brooks will officiate. Interment is in Westview Cemetery. — Lovein Funeral Home



Raven Lee Parsley

VALDOSTA — Raven Lee Parsley, infant daughter of Kimberly Parsley and Todd Parsley of Valdosta, died on Sunday, Aug. 8, 2004, at South Georgia Medical Center. Other survivors include her sisters, Amber and Brittany; and brother, Dakota, all of Valdosta; maternal grandmother, Hazel Lee Kemp; paternal grandparents, Muriel and Fred Fountain; maternal great-grandfather, Robert L. Dorminey, all of Valdosta; aunts and uncles, Michelle and Timothy Hall of Hahira, Joshua Kemp of South Carolina; and close family friends, Donna and Adam Padgett of Valdosta.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Sunset Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Bob Willis officiating. The family will receive friends at the Carson McLane Funeral Home from 10 a.m. Friday until service time. — Carson McLane Funeral Home

Henrinell Brooks Sheffield, 63, of Quitman died Monday at the Presbyterian Home after a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 12, in the Maxwell-Miller Chapel with the Rev. Tom Renfro and the Rev. Steve Atkinson officiating. — Maxwell-Miller Funeral Home



Lloyd Williams Sr.

Lloyd Williams Sr., 82, of Boston, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2004, at the Glenn-Mor Nursing Home in Thomasville. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time but will be announced later by the Stevens-McGhee Funeral Home of Quitman.
