Lynalee Cook Finney
LEESBURG — Lynalee Cook Finney, 98, of Leesburg, formerly of Valdosta ascended to be eternally present with her Lord Jesus on July 20, 2004.
The funeral service will be graveside Friday at 3 p.m. at Northview Cemetery in Dublin. The Rev. Mike McAfee will officiate.
A native of Dublin, Mrs. Finney lived in Leesburg the past few years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Valdosta for more than 40 years where she was a member of the Julia Harris Sunday School Class and the Merry Makers. She played the piano for her Sunday School Class, was an artist that loved to paint and create ceramics, and was an excellent cook and seamstress. She loved her family greatly and was deeply loved by them in return for she will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Gordon Finney II; and four sons, Jesse Gordon Finney III, James Thomas Finney, Jack Ralph Finney, and Derry Joe Finney.
Survivors include three daughters, Lynetta Finney Herrington (Bill) of Leesburg, Saralyna Finney Burns (Joe) of Jonesboro, and Margaret Finney Odell (Larry) of Valdosta; 14 grandchildren; Rebecca Finney, Frances Finney Palm, Elizabeth Finney, Joe A. Burns Jr., Bill Burns, Karen Herrington Kenna, Cynthia Herrington Romine, William Herrington, Lyna Finney Morgan, Jack Ralph Finney Jr., Michael Finney, David Odell, Rebekah Odell, and Ben Odell; 13 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Margaret Cook Cowart of Dublin; a niece and three nephews.
The family will receive friends today at the residence of Bill and Lynetta Herrington, 198 N. Hampton Road, Leesburg, Ga.

Qussie Lee Mitchell
MILTON, Del. — Qussie Lee Mitchell, 75, of Milton, Del., died Friday, July 16, 2004, at the home of her daughter, Hattie Bull, who was her caregiver.
Qussie was born on Sept. 27, 1927, in Quitman, Ga., to the late Olie and Ida Davis. Qussie left Georgia in 1986, and moved to Delaware to be near her children. Qussie was a member of Friendship Baptist Church where she served as a church missionary. She was a former member of the Sunshine Circle Club of Rehoboth. Qussie worked as a companion to senior citizens, for 1st State Community Action Agency in Georgetown, retiring in 1999.
Survivors include her husband, Willie J. Mitchell of Milton, Del.; three daughters, Jean Bass, Trenton, N.J., Bernice and husband Willie Edwards and Hattie and husband Berry Bull, all of Milton, Del.; two sons, the Rev. Marion and wife Vevlie Mitchell, Columbia, Mo., Thomas and wife Mymie Mitchell, Morrisville, Pa.; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 27 great-great- grandchildren;
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 24, 2004, at Friendship Baptist Church, W. 4th St., Lewes, Del. Burial will be held in the church cemetery. Friends may call the church from 6-8 p.m. Friday. — Miller Funeral Service, Milford, Del.
Barbara Mabry Smith
LAKE PARK — Barbara Mabry Smith, 83, a Lake Park resident for more than 40 years, died on Wednesday, July 21, 2004, at her Valdosta residence. Born on Nov. 17, 1920, in Tampa, Fla., she was the daughter of the late Gertrude Dean Mabry and Milton Harvey Mabry Jr. A native of Tampa, Barbara was a graduate of Plant High School and attended Stetson University and FSU and graduated from the University of Tampa. While in Tampa, she was an active member of First Baptist Church, Kappa Delta Sorority and the Junior League of Tampa. She was an active member of First Baptist Church Valdosta for more than 40 years where she taught the Young Adults Sunday School Class for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, William Drew Smith Sr.; and her sisters, Dale Mabry Boring, Alice Dean Cochran and Jane Mabry.
She is survived by her children, Dale Smith Loyd and husband George of Blackshear, William Drew Smith Jr. and wife Kaye of Valdosta, Steven Dennis Smith and wife Leigh of Valdosta; grandchildren, Mabry, Gini, Matthew, William and Lindsey Smith, all of Valdosta, and Steven Smith of Quito. In Tampa, she is survived by nieces and their husbands, Nancy Cochran Berry and Ted, Patti Boring Sellas and Bob; and a nephew and his wife, Milton Boring and Doris. She is lovingly remembered by a large extended family and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 23, 2004, in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Dr. Phil West officiating. A private family committal will follow the service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until service time. Linda Smith
LAKELAND — Linda Smith of Lakeland passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2004, at home following an illness. She was born May 8, 1951, in Clinch County, where she had lived most of her life. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis Milton Smith Sr. and Versie and Ervin Steedley.
Survivors include five children, Kenneth and Tina Smith, Manor, Angela and Randall Beverly, Manor, Dewayne and Sam Smith, Homerville, Annette Smith and Billy Davis, Homerville, and Glenda Michelle Smith, Lakeland; brothers and sisters, Shirley and Leo Odom, Atmore, Ala., Irene and Johnny Cunningham, St. George, Fla., Junior and Norma Smith, Homerville, Ga., Benny Smith, Homerville, and Glenda and Ernest Odom, Homerville; and nine grandchildren, Kelly and Kayla Smith, Johnathan Royals and Kimberly Infinger, Bobby McGee, Mary Wiggins, Mikeal Wiggins, Ed Lynn, Weston Tiner; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Friday, July 23, 2004, at Trinity Baptist Church in Homerville. Burial will follow in Pine Forest Cemetery. Ms. Smith will lie in state at the church until funeral time.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. today with the family receiving friends until 9 p.m.
