Tammy Lynn Eidson Hooker

MACON — Tammy Lynn Eidson Hooker, 47, of Macon, died Monday, Aug. 22, 2005, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m., Friday, Aug. 26, 2005, at Waterloo Baptist Church with the Rev. Wilton Grimes and the Rev. Randall Gay officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. this evening at Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors- Tiftarea Chapel.

Joey Hester, Paul Easter, Lanny Pike, James Hester, Joseph Hester, Tyler Eidson, and Thad Brogdon will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Hooker was born on April 18, 1958, in Tift County to Warren L. Eidson and Frances Hester Eidson who live in Waterloo. She was preceded in death by her brother, Ricky Eidson, who died in 1993, and her father-in-law, R.E. Hooker.

Mrs. Hooker was a native of Waterloo and had lived in Valdosta and Macon. She graduated from Irwin County High School in 1975, and then graduated with a BBA from Valdosta State University in 1980. She was employed by Southern Trust Insurance Company, Macon, as an accountant and supervisor. She was a member of Waterloo Baptist Church and attended Vineville North Baptist Church in Macon. She loved her church, her friends and her family. She fought strongly for five years and was an inspiration to many people.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hooker is survived by her husband, Tim Hooker of Macon to whom she was married for 21 years; one niece, Kristen E. Brogdon of Winder; one nephew, Tyler Eidson of Athens; her mother-in-law, Coye Dell Hooker of Valdosta; four sisters-in-law, Vickie Combass who also was a special caretaker, Susan Higginbotham, Laura Kennedy, and Pat Cowart; and two brothers-in-law, Archie Hooker and Gene Coody. — Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors-Tiftarea Chapel, Tifton



Alan Gregory (Greg) Maluda

VALDOSTA — Alan Gregory (Greg) Maluda, 38, of Valdosta passed away Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2005, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany after a sudden illness. He was born in Tift County and had lived in Valdosta for the past two years. He was owner of Maluda Insurance Agency of Valdosta. He was Methodist by faith.

Survivors include his parents, Charles and Myrtice Maluda’ Lakeland; sister and brother-in-law’ Sharon and Jerry Saffioti’ Orlando, Fla.; sister, Denise Maluda’ Valdosta; brother and sister-in-law’ Victor and Jennifer Maluda’ Montgomery, Ala.; brother and sister-in-law, Rodney and Janet Maluda, Valdosta; sister and brother-in-law’ Christine and James Benton’ Lakeland, Ga.; six nieces and nephews, Talarie Harris, Magan Harris, Addam Benton, Caitlin Maluda, Austin Benton, Paige Maluda; a number of other relatives and close friends.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday Aug. 27, 2005, at the Unity United Methodist Church with burial in Fender Cemetery in Lanier County. Alene Rowan

NASHVILLE — Alene Rowan, 80, of Nashville died Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2005, at Berrien County Hospital.

She was born on Dec. 28, 1924, in Berrien County to the late Neal and Lucinda Spells Singletary. She was a homemaker and attended Nashville Mission. She was the widow of Ralph A. Rowan who died Feb. 13, 1989. She is survived by three daughters, Cheryl Luke of Nashville, Lydia Carlton, Coolidge, LaJuana Chafin, Norman Park; three sons, Wallace Rowan, Melbourne, Fla., Earl Rowan, Cleveland, Tenn., Linwood Rowan, Homerville; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Stacy Luke.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 26, 2005, at Nashville Mission with the Rev. Jerry Baldree and the Rev. Raymond Gabbard officiating. Burial will be held in Empire Cemetery. Charles David Sayers Sr.

VALDOSTA — Charles David Sayers Sr., 51, lifetime resident of Valdosta, died at Archbold Medical Center on Monday, Aug. 22, 2005, from injuries received in an accident. Born in Athens, Ohio on Dec. 24, 1953, he was the son of Byron David and Jean Jordan Sayers. Mr. Sayers was a painter, employed with Jabon and Stone Inc. of Valdosta.

Survivors are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Charles David Jr., and Kellie Sayers of Valdosta, Byron David Sayers of Valdosta; his mother, Jean Sayers of Valdosta; grandmother, Claire Sayers of Athens, Ohio; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jimmy and Tina Sayers of Vinton, La., Greg and Mary Sayers of Valdosta; nieces and nephews, Gretchen Sayers of New York, N.Y., Brittany Sayers of Vinton, La., Scott Sayers of Quitman, Dylan Sayers of Vinton, La.; and many aunts, uncles and cousins in Ohio.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. today in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Pastor Keith Allsbrook will officiate.
