BARNEY

Russell Faye Carter

Mrs. Russell Faye Carter Williams, 65, of Barney died Nov. 8, 2005.

She was born on Feb. 8, 1940 in Colquitt Co. to the late Russell Herbert and Gladys Mercer Carter. She was retired from Southern Bag Company as a fork lift operator and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Ollin Williams.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Ivan and Sabrina Williams of Barney; grandchildren, Travis Williams, Ashley Williams, both of Barney; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tommy and Lou Carter and Mickey and Janet Carter, all of Moultrie.

Graveside rites will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11, 2005, in Morrison Cemetery in Brooks County with the Rev. Buddy Morrison officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. this evening at Cobb Funeral Chapel. –Cobb Funeral Chapel Moultrie



JASPER, Fla.

Kelley R. “K.R.” Bailey

Kelley R. “K.R.” Bailey, 85, of Jasper, Fla. passed away Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2005 at his home following an extended illness. Bailey was a native and longtime resident of Madison County. He was born on Feb. 11, 1920 to the late Boyt and Julia Bailey. Mr. Bailey served two terms on the Board of County Commissioners in Madison and worked for the Madison County School District in the maintenance department. He was a former member of First Baptist Church in Madison before moving to Jasper where he joined and was a faithful member at the First Baptist Church in Jasper.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Mary Lucas Bailey, Jasper; one daughter and son-in-law, Norma “Jeannie” and Ed Muller of Alexandria, Va.; one sister, Gloria Sellers, Thomasville; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13 in the chapel of Harry T. Reid Funeral Home, Jasper, Fla. Burial will follow at 4 p.m. in Elizabeth Cemetery in Jefferson County, Fla.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, 2005 at Harry T. Reid Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hospice 618 SW Florida Gateway Dr. Lake City, FL 32024. — Harry T. Reid Funeral Home, Jasper, Fla.

Ronald Thomas (Ron) Darby

Ronald Thomas (Ron) Darby, 56, of Hahira died Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2005, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born in Hahira on May 10, 1949 to the late Grady and Laurene Webb Darby and was lifelong resident of Hahira. Mr. Darby was an active member of the Hahira United Methodist Church, a veteran of the United States Air Force and was currently employed with the Ring Corporation. He was a very special man who loved his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon Odom Darby of Hahira; his daughter, Beth Darby of Hahira; his son, Tanner Darby of Hahira; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Don and Debbie Darby of Hahira, Jon and Sherrell Darby of Warm Springs; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Scotty and Ginny Odom of Adel; nephews and nieces, Matt Odom and Drew Odom both of Statesboro, Whitney Odom of Adel, Kirk Darby of Albuquerque, N.M., Joshua Darby of Milledgeville, Brack Ricks and Roxanne Ricks both of Nashville.

Funeral services will be held at 11a.m., today, Nov. 10, 2005, at the Hahira United Methodist Church with the Rev. Lynn Hurley, the Rev. Ken Morgan and Mr. Stan Reaves officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family received friends on Wednesday from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home. VALDOSTA

Johnnie V. Stokes

Johnnie V. Stokes, 78, longtime resident of Valdosta, died early Tuesday afternoon Nov. 8, 2005, after a short illness. Born in Valdosta on May 27, 1927, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Viola Edmondson Stokes.

After attending Valdosta City Schools and receiving her B.A. and Masters degrees from Valdosta State College, she taught in the Valdosta City School System for over 30 years. She was a member of First Christian Church of Valdosta. In later years she attended First Christian Church where she served as church pianist.

Survivors are David Coleman of Hahira, Nancy Herring of Valdosta, Paul Herring of Greenville, Ohio, Durward Arnold of Dasher and many other cousins.

Graveside services will be held on today, Nov. 10, 2005, at 3 p.m. in Sunset Hill Cemetery with Reverend Mickey Corbett and the Rev. John Akers officiating. Condolences to the family may be conveyed online at www.mclanefuneralservices.com. — Carson McLane Funeral Home

William C. “Bill” DeVane, 81 of Nashville, died Wednesday from injuries sustained in an auto accident. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Lovein Funeral Home.

Kathryn Maxine (Sirmans) Fender, 70, of Swainsboro passed away on Wednesday Nov. 9, 2005 in the Emanuel County Nursing Home. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced at a later date. — Music Funeral Services, Lakeland is serving the Fender family.



Albert Moore
