Benny Lee Cole
SYCAMORE — Funeral services for Benny Lee Cole, 55, 620 Lloyd Road, Sycamore, will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, at Bethel Baptist Church with burial to follow in Bethel Cemetery. Mr. Cole died Monday at his residence following an extended illness.
Mr. Cole was born in Lowndes County and had resided in Turner County for the last 25 years. He was the son of the late Leroy and Ossie Lee Ganas Cole. He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church and was a retired Georgia Department of Transportation Permit Inspector Engineer.
Mr. Cole is survived by his wife, Betty Solomon Cole of Sycamore; one son, Jason Cole of Sycamore; one daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Monty Pate, Sycamore; two grandchildren, Lexi and Ally Pate, both of Sycamore; one brother, Bobby Cole, Lake Park. Mr. Cole was preceded in death by one brother, Billy Cole; and one sister, Betty Shelley.

Aberdeen ‘Dean’ Parks
CECIL — Aberdeen “Dean” Parks, 75, of Cecil died on Nov. 9, 2004, at South Georgia Medical Center.
He was born on Jan. 25, 1929, in Rochelle to the late William Russell Furman Parks and the late Ruby Odessa Allison Parks Garner. He lived in Cecil since 1953. He was retired from Parks Portable Welding; was an avid fisherman and hunter; served on Cecil City Council; was a Cecil volunteer fire department chief for many years; an airman First Class Air Force veteran and member of Cecil Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Irene Moore Parks of Cecil; one son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Amanda Parks of Cecil; three daughters and sons-in-law, Jenny Parks Longden, Cecil, Sherry and Lonnie Roberts and Marlene and Richard Webb, all of Sparks; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Ricky Parks; one brother; four sisters and stepfather, W.S. “Sam” Garner.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Boone-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Young, the Rev. Terry Colon and the Rev. Roscoe Bennett officiating. Special selections – “Amazing Grace,” “I Want Us To Be Together in Heaven,” “Go Rest High on that Mountain.” Burial will be held in Fellowship Church Cemetery with military honors.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Boone-Lipsey Funeral Home, Hwy. 41 South.

Connie Raines
LAKE CITY, Fla. — Connie Raines, 59, of Lake City, Fla., passed away Monday, Nov. 8, 2004, at Shands at Lake Shore in Lake City. Connie was born in Newport News, Va. She was a homemaker and member of Divonia Baptist Church in Hamilton County. She was a member of the Eastern Star in Valdosta.
Survivors include her husband of 22 years, Carroll “Buddy” Raines, Lake City, Fla.; one son, Chris A. Raines, Lake City, Fla.; one daughter, Alison Lee, Lineville, Ala.; two brothers, Jimmy and Dick Riddle, both of Richmond, Mich.; six sisters, Tosse Dye, Morven, Ga., Louise Huggins, Matthews, Va., Edna Tyson, Jennings, Fla., Dee Davis, Hull, Maine, Rose Goodremate, Buffalo, N.Y. Gayle Cumbess, Statenville, Ga.; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, in the chapel of Harry T. Reid Funeral Home, Jasper, Fla. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Jasper, Fla. Nicholas Steven Salser
VALDOSTA — Nicholas Steven Salser, 26, formerly of Johnstown, Ohio died Saturday, Nov. 6, 2004, at his residence in Valdosta, Ga. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Friday, Nov. 12, 2004, at Crouse-Kauber-Sammons Funeral Home, 225 N. Main St., Johnstown, Ohio, with Pastor John Carruth and Ronnie Salser officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery.
Nicholas was born March 27, 1978, in Columbus, Ohio. He attended Johnstown-Monroe High School and was an avid fisherman.
He is survived by his parents, Steve and Rebecca Salser of Valdosta; one brother, Tyler Salser and Tyler’s fiancee, Tina Stops of Valdosta; paternal grandparents, Charles I. and Betty E. Salser of Racine, Ohio; aunt, Diane and Larry Jones of Shreveport, La.; aunt, Debra and Mike Simmons of Johnstown, Ohio; uncle, Lucky Walton of Johnstown, Ohio; numerous great-aunts, great-uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins, and loved by many friends. He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Chester O. and Jennette B. Walton; one uncle, John A. Walton.
