EMTs thanked
“Thank you to Cindy and David who are EMTs at SGMC. They came to my rescue in the middle of the night. Thanks for coming to my home in the middle of the night and transporting me to the emergency room. You both were heaven sent. May God bless you.”
Foolish traps
“Gettysburg was a foolish bloody trap, too, as was the entire Civil War. Wealthy landowners and slave owners who wanted to stay rich pitted poor whites and poor blacks against each other, and paid poor men to fight in their place. The fine state of Georgia is still reaping what it sowed then. The same thing has been happening in Iraq, except the wealthy parties are corporations and senators. I’ll promise to get some intestinal fortitude if you promise to learn your history.”
Cleaning up mess
“I am so sick of those of you who are ranting about how awful the president is. It makes me sick. Do you not remember what happened on Sept. 11? That is what we are trying to prevent from happening again. My husband is in the military, and we are so happy to finally have a president that is behind the military instead of having military cuts. As for Clinton, if that coward would have done something about Bin Laden when he had the chance we wouldn’t even be in this situation. Now Bush is left to clean up the mess.”
Tax the junk
“I have come up with a perfect solutions for cleaning up Lowndes County. This will bring in more tax money. Instead of taxing good people for fixing up and maintaining their property, let’s tax the people who own junk cars and trash in their yards. Check this out tax assessors.”
Randall fan
“I was pleasantly surprised to see Sharon Randall’s column in the paper. Thank you so much and please keep it coming.”
Proud of team
“Amber Williams, Jessica DeVane and Leann Stevens from Lowndes High School won the business competition in National FBLA. We are really proud of them and Marie Weeks their leader.”
Something’s wrong
“What is wrong with this picture? Our young men are dying in Iraq while the president is traveling the country raising obscene amounts of campaign money.”
Others to suffer
“Increasing the taxes on cigarettes and liquor will not affect the user. They will still get what they want. It is the rest of the family who will be suffering.”
Hardee’s ladies
“A big rave for the ladies at Hardee’s on Ashley and Northside. They are always so friendly and happy when I go by in the mornings. They are doing a great job.”
Mourning losses
“To the Gettysburg historian: Surely you don’t mean to imply that we should
have the ‘intestinal fortitude’ to blithely accept the deaths of a vast number of American soldiers in this illegal occupation of a foreign nation. Unlike you and your arrogant cowboy president, I mourn the loss of every brave young life.”
