No use for bridge
“The walking bridge over Oak Street is called ‘The Monster.’ I used it as a student back in the early 80s, and some students still use it. However, if you ever walked up that winding concrete hauling books or groceries you’d know where it got its name and why many kids don’t want to use it.”
Not a good idea
“I can’t believe that Valdosta is going to put artificial turf on the new field. They must not know how many knees that will blow out along with many other injuries.”
Pulling back
“Here is an idea that would save a lot of money and protect only the United States. Let’s pull all the military back to the United States. Close all military bases overseas. Bring all the ships into port and never let any military leave the United States. Only attack other countries only if they bomb us first, but we cannot leave the U.S. to do it. Let the whole world, except the U.S., go down the drain while we watch.”
Natural behavior
“I am so tired of ignorant people making rude comments about women breastfeeding in public. No one thinks twice about putting a bottle in their baby’s mouth in public, which is the unnatural thing. Women shouldn’t be ashamed of their breasts and those who can’t handle it need to educate themselves on how much better it is to breastfeed.”
Literal view
“The Bible states man was created in God’s image and likeness. I find it hard to believe someone thinks God looks like an ape! Either you believe the Bible, literally, or you don’t. You can’t have it both ways.”
Credit problems
“Don’t presume that people with past credit problems will make dishonest employees. There are many people in this town with spotless credit histories that will rob you blind.”
Teaching science
“Our parents complain because Georgia is last in the nation in education and SAT scores, but what do you expect when you have an Education Secretary that is trying to dumb down the scientific education of Georgia’s students. You can’t make an informed decision if you don’t know the facts, evolution vs. creationism. The schools aren’t advocating it, the teachers are teaching it. Let them do their job, your children will thank you.”
Committed soldier
“To ‘Not my child:’ I am about to send my husband off to Iraq next week. He’s certainly not a Bush supporter, however, he has a duty in obeying commands, even if it is to a commander he doesn’t agree with. Stop being so close-minded. It’s people like you that make my husband’s job a hard one.”
No judgment here
“Who are we to judge? If the ultimate judgment of our lives here on Earth lays in the hands of God the Almighty Father, who are we to say who may not marry whom? If two people can find happiness, friendship and love, let them marry. If, when they die and have to stand in judgment, God determines what they have done is sinful and wrong, that is His decision to make, not ours.”
