Two Suwannee soccer players made the Gainesville Sun’s All-Area second team. Michael Bowen made second team all-area as a forward. Bowen scored 10 goals and made 10 assists during the 2001-2002 season.



Candace Goodman, sophomore defender for the Lady Dog soccer team, made the second team for women’s soccer. Goodman is a defender for Suwannee.



Also making Honorable Mention All-Area were two of Suwannee’s freshman sensation soccer players. Freshman Billy Moran and Matt Yanossy made the team as well as sophomore Reggie Johnson.



Men’s soccer coach Frank Johnson said they are looking to up the level of competition in next year’s schedule. The men’s soccer team will add Bolles and North Florida High to their regular lineup, two of North Florida’s better teams.



Suwannee’s men soccer team has set their goals high for the 2003-2004 season.

“Our intention is to win district next year,” Johnson said. “We’ll be playing with the big boys.”
