Free Press office makes change
Published 2:21 pm Wednesday, December 21, 2005
Some things change, the most important, stay the same . . . the change will be in the location of the Mayo Free Press office. The Free Press office is moving to Branford, but — what won’t change is our loyalty to our readers.
The reason for the move to Branford is simple; our company owns the building in Branford that houses the Branford News office. This is a large, comfortable building and has plenty of room for both newspapers to operate (independently) from this location.
Thanks to the age of modern technology, we can operate from this new location and still produce a good community newspaper that serves its readers well.
Yes, things will be a little different for reporter Delores Walker and office manager Linda Smith, but Free Press readers won’t see any change in the coverage they are now getting in their weekly, hometown newspaper.
You can still call the Free Press at the same number, 294-1210; you can fax, email (mayofreepress@alltel.net), or write. The mailing address will remain the same, P.O. Box 248, Mayo 32066. The Free Press will also set up a drop box at Croft’s Thrift-Way on Hwy. 27 in Mayo, which will be easily accessible to everyone. This can be used to drop off subscriptions, photos and or articles, etc. Call the office for pricing information and then those things can be taken to the drop box. If a photo is sent that you want returned, just enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope and it will be returned.
Walker will still be around town reporting the news as usual. The office manager will be in town often, at various functions and happenings around the county. Myrtle Parnell will still handle your advertising needs. So, you will still be seeing the same Free Press ladies that you see now, as much as ever before.
The Free Press team will keep your local newspaper coming out each week and will give its readers the very best coverage. As always, we still need your help with news tips, articles, photos and more – we’re just a phone call away.
Again, we want to stress to our loyal customers, readers and friends; you won’t see any difference in news coverage, or delivery of your weekly newspaper. The Free Press team will use this opportunity to work to make the Mayo Free Press the best it can be!
You are more than welcome to drop by the new office location, which will be at 705 NW Suwannee Avenue — inside the Branford News office, on US 129 in Branford, across from Scaff’s Supermarket.
We will be relocating our office as of October 21.
