The season is over for Southern Junior Rodeo Association kids. The final rodeo of the year was held May 28-29 in Ocala. Local Live Oak rodeo roper Justin Johnson came away with an amazing three saddles, seven buckles and $300.
Johnson won the Senior All-Around Cowboy award, Tie-Down Calf roping and Break Away Roping titles that all came with a saddle.
Points were close right up to the end. Johnson and Clint Summers, his favorite team roping partner, placed second overall in Team Roping but did take home the Winning Average Buckles. Johnson also won the Average Buckle in Break Away with a 3.30 and a 2.47 run. Johnson also ended the year placing fourth in Chute Doggin.
Next year Johnson will move up to the Florida High School Rodeo Circuit as he enters Suwannee High.
