Knapp signs with Erskine College

Katee Knapp a Branford High senior signed a letter of intent on Thursday to play softball for Erskine College in Due West, S.C. According to Katee’s mother Bobbi her daughter will have a full scholarship for four years.
It is estimated the amount will pay approximately $20,000 per year.
Katee who has excelled in sports as well as the classroom said one reason she chose this offer, is because her brother Robbie Knapp is presently in school at Erskine, and will have another year when she begins her tenure. The family is already familiar with the college.
Knapp pitches for the Branford Buccaneers and has played varsity softball for four years. Her senior year will make five. She is not a great pitcher, she is good with the bat.
Clubs and activities Knapp is currently involved in is FCCLA, SADD/SWAT, Interact, Beta, Juniorettes and FFA. This year she ran Cross Country.
A number of her best friends and teachers were present when she signed on Thursday.
Former coach Tommy Chambers and Jay Johnson came down from Live Oak. Assistant LaDon Terry was present, along with BHS principal Ted Roush and BHS Athletic Director Cleve Sikes.
Katee’s parents John and Bobbi Knapp said they were real pleased with Katee’s accomplishments and are happy with the decision she has made to attend Erskine. She has two older brothers John Michael and Robbie both BHS graduates. Both young men are in college.
