Lady Dogs make it nine in a row

The Suwannee High Lady Dog volleyball team is on a record roll. They made it nine wins in a row by taking the Madison Cowgirls out in three matches 25-14, 25-10 and 25-20. It was the first of four away games culminating in the district playoffs on Oct. 28. This win puts the Lady Dogs at 10-6 for the season and 6-4 in district play.



Leading player for the game was Kortney Cherry with 19 service points, two kills, five aces, three assists and two dinks.



Individual stats

Heather Benson had 11 service points and four aces.

Lindsey Gaskins had six kills and two dinks.

Kyla Serrano had five service points and three aces.

Heather LeBlanc had six service points.

Marcella Walker had four kills, three service points, three assists and one dink.

Sharon Jelks had two service points, two kills, five assists and one dink.



The JV Lady Dogs also won their game. they played two matches and won both 25-22 and 25-17.

The next game for the Lady Dogs is on Oct. 20 in Branford. Game time is 5 p.m. for the JV Lady Dogs and 6:30 p.m. for the varsity team. On Oct. 21 they travel to Ft. White to play the Lady Indians and on Oct. 23 the travel to Lafayette to play the Lady Hornets. Look for the game stories and photos in the Suwannee Democrat. Go Lady Dogs!
