Lady Dogs win first game of the season against Taylor

The Lady Dog volleyball team traveled to Taylor County for the second game of the season and collected their first big win. It’s a new year and a new format for Lady Dog volleyball. Suwannee’s girls played four games to defeat Taylor winning three of the four.



Suwannee took the Taylor girls in the first match 25-22 and won the second match 25-9. In a close defeat the Lady Dogs lost the third match 22-25. The Suwannee girls won the fourth match of the game 25-15 to take the victory.



Leading the scoring for Suwannee against Taylor was Heather “Benny” Benson with an amazing 22 service points, 16 aces and 18 assists.



Kyla Serrona had 9 service points for Suwannee, 1 kill, 3 aces, 2 assists and 2 dinks.

In only her second year as a volleyball player, Heather LeBlanc has come up strong this season. LeBlanc had 9 service points, 1 kill, 4 aces and 1 assist.



Kortney Cheery had 9 service points, 3 kills, 2 aces, 3 assists and 1 dink.

Sharon Jelks had 4 kills, 8 service points, 8 aces, 5 assists and 1 block.

Lindsey Gaskins had a monstrous 6 kills, 3 service points and 1 ace.

Merlonda Owens had 1 kill and 1 service point.



Marcella Walker had 2 service points.



The Suwannee Lady Dogs take on Florida High at home for the first home game of the season on Tuesday Sept. 9. Come out and watch this hot 2003 Suwannee High volleyball team. The JV play at 4 p.m. and the varsity play at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. Go Lady Dogs!
