Lady Dogs win first match of season

Suwannee volleyball took home their first win Monday, Aug. 29 against Bell. The Lady Dogs fought hard, tying Bell with two wins each after playing four games. The Lady Dogs won the fifth and deciding game to take home a big “W”. Suwannee won the first 25-22, lost the second 12-25, lost the third 21-25, won the fourth 25-15 and won the fifth 15-7.

Danielle Smith and Cortney Benson had the big serve against Bell. Benson had 11 service points with four aces. Smith also had 11 service points with four aces. Benson also had 13 assists. Smith had three kills, three assists and one blocked shot.

Alex Camunas was the lady Dog spiker, racking up seven kills against Bell, 10 service points, three of them aces, with two assists.

Ashley Rose, back in action after missing two games, had four kills and two blocks.

Stephanee Skipper notched seven service points on her belt, three of them aces, and six assists.

Jasmine Jefferson had two kills, four service points and one assists.

Lacy Smith had six service points, three of them aces.

Rebecca Roberts had one service point which was an ace.

The JV Lady Dogs lost both of the games of their match to the Bell JV 12-25 and 20-25.

Look for Suwannee’s Lady Dog volleyball team at home again tomorrow, Thursday, Sept. 8 against the Madison Cowgirls. Come out and support the Lady Dogs. Game time for JV is 5 p.m. and the varsity team takes the court at 6 p.m. Go Lady Dogs!
