Lafayette State Bank holds ground breaking

President and CEO James A. Roberts held ground breaking April 29, for the new office of Lafayette State Bank in Live Oak. Construction is underway on the site, which is located in the “Overlook Commercial Park” complex on Highway 129 North. The 4600 sq. ft. office will be a full service office.



Paul Stresing Associates of Gainesville designed the building with CEO Roberts to incorporate numerous offices for lending and customer services. The office will include safe deposit boxes, four drive up lanes and an ATM. Harlie Lynch Construction of Mayo is the contractor with site work by Dennis Music Construction of Live Oak. Construction has begun on the building with an expected completion date in late fall.



CEO Roberts, along with the Lafayette State Bank Board of Directors, are looking forward to working with everyone in Live Oak and Suwannee County in providing financial services to the community. LSB prides itself on being independently owned and operated, and as such can make any and all decisions at the local level. Chartered in 1946, Lafayette State Bank has been providing personal, commercial, and agriculture deposits and loan services for over 57 years. The bank currently has offices located in Mayo and Branford.



Additionally the bank would like to welcome Bill Owen to the staff of LSB. Mr. Owen, as Vice president will be responsible for lending and deposit growth in the new Live Oak Office. With over 18 years of banking experience in the Live Oak area, Bill will be giving his old and new customers the kind of service they deserve.
