When Sgt. Alan Ellis and Dep. Geoff Condy responded to a disturbance call at the Byrd Dairy in Lafayette County, Aug. 11 at noon, they found there was more to the story than just an argument between the workers.
As Ellis interviewed those involved in the altercation he was told that marijuana was being grown at a residence directly across from the dairy.
Following the lead Ellis and Condy approached the home where they found the marijuana and arrested Pedro Contreras Ramirez, 28. Ramirez lives at 353 N.E. Pickeral Rd., Mayo.
The suspect was taken to the Lafayette County Jail and charged with cultivating an illegal substance (marijuana) a 3rd degree felony that carries up to a five year sentence.
After a first appearance, Ramirez was released on a $2000 Coker’s Bond Aug. 12.
