Mary McCall Runyon, 84, of Jennings, passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2004 at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, Georgia following a brief illness. She was born in Jennings on November 17, 1919 to the late Robert and Addie Bradshaw McCall. Runyon was a retired executive secretary to the vice-president of Valdosta State University and a member of the Jennings Missionary Baptist Church. She was elected and served as Hamilton County Supervisor of Elections from 1980 until 1984. She was preceded in death by her son, Charles E. Runyon III.

Survivors include her daughter, Starr Runyon, Jennings; a brother, Robert “R.W.” McCall Jr., Valdosta, Georgia; two grandchildren, Nikki (Marty) Wood, and Brent Runyon; two great-grandchildren, Christopher and Victoria.

Funeral services were held Thursday, October 28, 2004, at Jennings Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Stephen Haskell officiating. Interment followed in Sassers Landing Cemetery.
