Landen Quinteen Ball

Landen Quinteen Ball, four months old, passed away Sunday, September 12, 2004 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. He was born May 11, 2004.



Survivors include his parents, Deana Franklin and Charlie Ball, Jasper; a sister, Elizabeth Lewis, Jasper; maternal grandparents, Brenda and Dean Franklin, Jasper; and paternal grandmother, Sarah Ball, Jasper.



Graveside services were held Tuesday, September 14 at Sassers Landing Cemetery.



Harry T. Reid Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.



Henry Odell Hagan



Henry Odell Hagan, age 83, of Jasper, passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2004 at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, Georgia. Hagan was born February 22, 1920 to the late Leonard and Malzie Hagan. The beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather was the owner and operator of Hagan Grocery Store in Jasper for 15 years. Hagan was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy Hagan Brooks.



Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Doris Hagan, Jasper; a son, Charles H. Hagan (Peggy), Live Oak, Florida; a daughter, June Staten (Tommy), Statenville, Georgia.; a brother, Earl Hagan, Vanceboro, North Carolina; two sisters, Lucille Nipper, Arcadia, Florida, and Laura V. Tucker, Jacksonville, Florida; 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday, September 17 in the chapel of Harry T. Reid Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Frier officiating. Interment followed in Evergreen Cemetery.

David W. Mercer



David W. Mercer, age 79, of Jennings passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2004 at Lake City Veterans Administration Medical Center in Lake City.



Mercer was born August 5, 1925 in Alma, Georgia to the late Eddie and Ethel Mercer. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. Mercer retired from Winn Dixie where he worked for 21 years in the meat department. He moved to the Jennings area 19 years ago and attended Jennings Church of God.



Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Jane L. Mercer, Jennings; two sons, Thomas Lee Mercer, Knoxville, Tennessee, and Timothy Mercer, Altamonte Springs, Florida; two daughters, Sonya McCreary and Janice Stohlmann, both of Jennings; a sister, Beatrice Parker, Alma, Georgia; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.



Funeral services were held Friday, September 17 at Jennings Church of God with Pastor Cynthia Mosley and Bro. Earl Musgrove officiating. Interment followed in Evergreen Cemetery.
