Karen Joy Adams
Ms. Karen Joy Adams passed away on Tuesday, August 10, 2004, at Shands at University of Florida, in Gainesville. She was 50 years of age. Ms. Adams was a lifetime resident of the Tri-county area. She was a homemaker and attended Calvary Temple Assembly of God.
Ms. Adams is survived by her daughters, Kimberly Joy Culpepper of Old Town, FL, and Samantha Nicole Culpepper of Sneads, FL; sister, Cheryl Lord of Old Town, FL; She had 2 grandchildren.
Graveside Service was held on Friday, August 13, 2004, at 2 p.m. at the New Prospect Cemetery, with Rev. Jim Hurst officiating.
Arrangements were under the care of Rick Gooding Funeral Home in Cross City, FL, US Hwy 19, (352) 498-5400.
Gladys Goodson
Mrs. Gladys Goodson of Hatch Bend passed away at her home Monday, August 2, 2004 at the age of 78. Mrs. Goodson was born and lived in Dixie County until 14 years ago when she moved to Hatch Bend in Lafayette County.
She was a homemaker and mother, and for many years worked for the Florida Forest Service at Holly Hill fire tower and then the Levy County School Board. She was a Stanley Home Products Dealer for thirty plus years in both Florida and Georgia. She was a member of the Hatch Bend Apostolic Church for the past 40 years spending her vacation time at conventions and camp meetings.
She is survived by her daughter, Betty (Farrell) Mikel of Old Town; son, Marcus Jones of Hatch Bend; brother, Morris Jerrells of Cross City; sisters, Pearl Cribbs of Bell and Mary Corbin of Cross City; granddaughter DeAnna Hicks (Tommy) Haire of Barney, GA and great granddaughter, Caitlynn Haire.
She is preceded in death by two husbands, Emory Jones and Levy W. Goodson; parents Alex and Hattie Jerrells; sister, Cleo Sullivan and brother Jimmy Jerrells.
Funeral services for Mrs. Goodson was held Sunday, August 8, 2004 at 3 p.m. at the Hatch Bend Apostolic Church with Rev. Steve Boyd officiating. Burial followed in the Hatch Bend Apostolic Church Cemetery.
A visitation was held Sunday, August 8, at 2 p.m. at the church. Arrangements were under the care of the Rick Gooding Funeral Home, Cross City, Florida.
Jerry W. Richardson
Jerry W. Richardson, a carpenter, age 54, died Monday, August 16, 2004 in Live Oak. He was the son of the late Russell B. and Eppie Gladys (McCullers) Richardson. He attended the Mayo Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include: (2) sons; Russell B. Richardson and Jeremy W. Richardson, of Mayo, (5) brothers; Russell Edwin Richardson, of Alabama, Edgar Richardson, Ronald Richardson, Dale Richardson, all of Mayo, and Robert Richardson, of Albany, Ga, and a host of nieces and nephews also survive him.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 19, 2004, at the Burns Mayo Chapel, with Pastor David Stephens, officiating. Interment will follow at Alton Church of God Cemetery. Family received friends on Wed. evening from 6-9 p.m. at the Chapel.
