Robert F. Bedenbaugh Jr.
Robert F. Bedenbaugh Jr., 48, passed away Monday, April 18, 2005 at the E.T. York Hospice Center in Gainesville following a long and courageous battle with cancer. Bedenbaugh was the son of Irene Watt Bedenbaugh and the late Robert F. Bedenbaugh Sr. He was a loving husband and father. Bedenbaugh put his family first, proudly spoiling and nurturing his wife Debbie and children, Ashley and Jared. His passion for his family and his fellow man was as infectious as his signature smile.
Bedenbaugh started his retail career while attending Columbia High School (CHS). He worked for DeVane’s Department Store and upon graduation from CHS in 1974, he attended Lake City Community College. Bedenbaugh then worked for Revco. In 1988, he began his career with his Wal-Mart family in Lakeland. Most recently, Bedenbaugh served as manager of the Wal-Mart Super Center in Live Oak. He considered his Wal-Mart associates as family and appreciated their support. Bedenbaugh was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, Lake City.
Survivors include his wife, Debbie; daughter, Ashley; son, Jared; his mother, Irene Watt Bedenbaugh, all of Lake City; sisters, Susan Elinoff (Ron) of Jacksonville, Jane North and Ann Thrasher (Coco) of Lake City. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert F. Bedenbaugh Sr. and a brother, Julian Bedenbaugh.
Memorial services will be conducted at 3 p.m., today, Friday, April 22 at Bethel United Methodist Church, Lake City with the Rev. Ken Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the “Robert Cares” fund of Bethel United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 1833, Lake City, FL 32056. This fund has been established to continue his discreet tradition of helping those in need.

Lucy Ora Brown
Lucy Ora Brown, 94, of Live Oak, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2005 in Suwannee Health Care Center, Live Oak, after a long illness. The Fargo, Okla. native moved to Live Oak from Marion, Ind. in August of 1999, was a homemaker and was of Baptist faith.
Survivors include her daughter, Belva Pickerel of Marion, Ind.; three sisters, Mae Atwell of Anderson, Ind., Alene Taylor of Lakeland and Ava Kearns of Fairbury, Ill.; one brother, Ray Atwell of Live Oak; six grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial service was conducted at Daniels Memorial Chapel at 6 p.m., Thursday, April 21 with the Rev. Doug Cagle officiating. Interment followed in Live Oak Cemetery.

James F. “Pete” Waters Jr.
James F. “Pete” Waters Jr., 73, of Live Oak, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2005 after a long illness. He resided in Suwannee County most of his life, was an agriculture law enforcement officer for the state of Florida and retired with 25 years of service, was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of the Mt. Olive Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Lynette Waters of Live Oak; two daughters, Judy (Charles) Ranck and Joan (Kenny) Mize, both of Live Oak; one son, James F. (April) Waters III of Jacksonville; one sister, Claudie Bass of Lake City; and three grandchildren, Allen (Kimberly) Ranck, Kristen Ranck and Emily Grace Waters. He was predeceased by his brother, Donald Waters.
Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m., Thursday, April 21 in Mt. Olive Church of Christ with Mr. John Arnold and Mr. Everett Williamson officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
